Constantino Kapambwe (born 21 July 1940) is a former long-distance runner. He competed in the marathon at the 1964 Summer Olympics representing Northern Rhodesia. [1]

Kapambwe was among the first ever marathon runners to represent Northern Rhodesia at the Olympics along with Trevor Haynes and Laurent Chifita. Kapambwe was also one of only three athletes to run the race barefoot, along with Harbans Lal and Mathias Kanda, following Abebe Bikila's barefoot win at the 1960 Olympics. [2] He finished 46th in the race, running 2:39:28 hours as the top Northern Rhodesian runner. [3] [4] [5]

Northern Rhodesia achieved independence and became Zambia three days after his race, making him the last Northern Rhodesian Olympic athlete. [6]
