Contrahierbas, [1] [2] [3] also called Yanarraju [4] (possibly from Quechua yana black, [5] rahu snow, ice, mountain with snow) [6] or Ruricocha [3] [2] (possibly from Quechua ruri inside, Ancash Quechua ruri interior; inside; deep; valley or little river; qucha lake), [7] [8] is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,954 metres (19,534 ft) high. [4] It is situated in the Ancash Region in the provinces Asunción, Carhuaz and Yungay. Contrahierbas is located inside Huascarán National Park, northeast of Hualcán. [1] [4]

With a summit elevation of 6,354 metres (20,846 ft) above sea level it is one of the highest peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. It lies in Yungay Province, Ancash, between the mountains Huascarán and Contrahierbas.

Huandoy

Copa is a mountain in the Andes of Peru whose summit reaches about 6,188 metres (20,302 ft) above sea level. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Asunción Province, Chacas District, and in the Carhuaz Province, Marcará District, south-east of Hualcán.

Tuco (mountain)

Tuco,Tuku,Tucu or Huanaco Punta is a mountain in the Andes in South America. Its summit is 5,479 m (17,976 ft)) high and it is one of the southernmost peaks in the snow-capped Cordillera Blanca in northwestern central Peru. Tuco is located in the Ancash Region, Bolognesi Province, Aquia District and in the Recuay Province, Catac District. It is situated northeast of Caullaraju, between Challhua in the west and Pastoruri in the east.

Caullaraju

Caullaraju or Jeulla Rajo is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,682 m (18,642 ft) high. It is located in the Ancash Region, Recuay Province. In the IGN-Peru map, the highest peak is reported to be named Jenhuaracra.

Vallunaraju

Vallunaraju or Wallunaraju is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,686 metres (18,655 ft) high and located in Huaraz Province, Ancash. Vallunaraju lies south west of Ranrapalca and Ocshapalca.

Huamashraju

Huamashraju, Wamashraju, Yanahuacra or Rajo Colta is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,434 metres (17,828 ft) high. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Huaraz Province, Huaraz District. Huamashraju lies east of the town of Huaraz, west of Huantsán and northwest of Shacsha and Cashan.

Yanarrajo

Yanarrajo (possibly from Quechua yana black, rahu snow, ice, mountain with snow, "black snow peak" is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,055 metres high. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Yungay Province, in the districts Yanama and Yungay. Yanarrajo lies in the Huascarán National Park, south-west of Yanapaccha, near the Llanganuco Lakes.

Urus (mountain)

Urus, also known as Yanaraju, is a 5,423-metre-high (17,792 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It located between Carhuaz and Huaraz provinces, in Ancash. Urus lies in Huascarán National Park, west of Tocllaraju.

Chequiaraju

Chequiaraju,Chequiarajo, or Checquiacraju is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,286 metres (17,343 ft) high. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Carhuaz Province, Shilla District. Chequiaraju lies northwest of Hualcán and the lake Chiqllaqucha.

Lake Ichiccocha or Lake Chica is a lake in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru located in Ancash Region, Huaylas Province, Santa Cruz District. It lies within Santa Cruz Creek, between the mountains Pomabamba to the north and Caraz to the south, southwest of the larger lake Jatuncocha.

Yanacocha (Asunción)

Yanacocha is a lake in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru located in the Ancash Region, Asunción Province, Chacas District. It is situated at a height of about 4,250 metres (13,944 ft), about 470 m long and 161 m at its widest point. Yanacocha lies north-west of the mountain Perlilla, north-east of the mountain Pomabamba, south-west of the lakes Huegroncocha and Runtococha and north-east of the lakes Lauricocha and Paqarisha.

Quitaraju

Quitaraju or Kitaraju is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 6,040 metres (19,816 ft) high. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Huaylas Province, Santa Cruz District. Quitaraju lies north of the Santa Cruz Creek and the lakes named Ichiccocha, Jatuncocha and Quitacocha, between Santa Cruz in the west and Alpamayo in the northeast.

Tullparaju

Tullparaju is a mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru, about 5,787 metres (18,986 ft) high. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Huaraz Province, Independencia District, and in the Huari Province, Huari District. Tullparaju lies southeast of the mountains Pucaranra and Chinchey and northeast of Andavite. It is situated at the end of the Quilcayhuanca valley, northeast of the lake Tullpacocha.

Vicos

Vicos or Paccharuri is a 5,315 m (17,438 ft) high mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Carhuaz Province, Marcara District. Paccharuri lies in the Huascarán National Park, southwest of Copa and southeast of Lake Lejiacocha.

Tarushcancha

Tarushcancha or Chaqchipuncu is a 5,345-metre-high (17,536 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Asunción Province, Chacas District. Tarushcancha lies in Huascarán National Park, northeast of Atlante and southeast of Yacuihuarmi.

Paccharaju

Paccharaju is a mountain of 5,744 m (18,845 ft) of elevation in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. In other maps it is shown as comprising two peaks: Rocotuyo of 5,749 m (18,862 ft) and Rayococha of 5,460 m (17,913 ft). It is located between the provinces of Asunción Province and Carhuaz, in Ancash; southwest of mount Tarush Kancha, inside Huascarán National Park.

Maparaju

Maparaju is a 5,326-metre-high (17,474 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It is located between Huaraz and Huari provinces, in the region of Ancash. Maparaju lies at the head of the Cayesh valley, southwest of Cayesh and Artisa and northeast of Qarwakancha.

Raju Cutac

Raju Cutac, Rajo Cutac or Rajutuna, is a 5,355-metre-high (17,569 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Bolognesi Province, Aquia District. Raju Cutac lies southeast of Challhua and Tuco.

Milluacocha

Milluacocha is a 5,404-metre-high (17,730 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Blanca range in the Andes of Peru. Other sources claim this mountain has an elevation of 5,480-metre-high (17,979 ft). It is located in Yuracmarca District, Huaylas Province, Ancash. It lies between Santa Cruz in the southeast and Champara in the northwest. Pilanco is located east of it. Los Cedros Creek flows along its southern slopes.
