The Historical Dictionary of Switzerland is an encyclopedia on the history of Switzerland. It aims to present the history of Switzerland in the form of an encyclopaedia, published both on paper and on the internet, in three of the country's national languages: German, French and Italian. When it was completed at the end of 2014, the paper version contained around 36,000 articles divided into thirteen volumes. At the same time, a reduced edition of the dictionary has been published in Romansh under the title Lexicon istoric retic (LIR), and constitutes the first specialist dictionary in the Rhaeto-Romance, Switzerland.
The 1961–62 European Cup was the seventh season of the European Cup, UEFA's premier club football tournament. The competition was won by Benfica for the second time in a row, beating Real Madrid 5–3 in the final at the Olympisch Stadion in Amsterdam, on 2 May 1962. This outcome meant that Real Madrid became the first team to win and lose European Cup final. Ferenc Puskás scored his second hat-trick in the final of the competition, and as of 2024, is the only player to achieve this feat, as well as being the only final hat-trick scorer to end up on the losing side.

Coppa delle Alpi was a official football tournament, first organized by the Italian national league as it started in 1960 and then they were aided by the Swiss League from 1962, for the reason that the majority of the Alps are in Switzerland [this is an incorrect assertion as "the majority of the alps are" not in Switzerland but in Austria and Italy]. This competition ran from 1960 until 1987.
The Switzerland national rugby union team represents Switzerland in men's international rugby union competitions. Nicknamed The White Flowers (Edelweiss), is considered one of the stronger tier 3 teams in European rugby and currently compete in the second division of the Rugby Europe International Championships in the Rugby Europe Trophy, a competition which is just below the Rugby Europe Championship where the top 6 countries in Europe compete. They are yet to participate in any Rugby World Cup and often play in all red while their alternative kit is all white.

The Torneo Interfederale Coppa Torino was a summer association football friendly tournament that took place in Turin, Italy in 1910 and 1912. In the tournament participated two teams from Turin and two invited clubs. The first edition was contested by four teams, with semifinals, third place match and final. The second edition provided that home teams played two matches with the guests and the team won with the highest number of points.
The 43rd FIE Fencing World Cup began in October 2013 and concluded in July 2014 at the 2014 World Fencing Championships held in Kazan. The World Cup medals were awarded during the FIE's gala dinner in Rome at Palazzo Colonna on 22 November 2014.

Carpano was an Italian professional cycling team that existed from 1956 to 1966. The team's main sponsor between 1956 and 1964 was the Turin-based wine company Carpano, with Fausto Coppi's bicycle company Coppi a co-sponsor for the first two seasons. When Carpano took sole sponsorship of the team, the team adopted black and white striped jerseys similar to the shirts worn by Turin's Juventus Football Club. For the final two years, 1965 and 1966, Italian food producer Sanson took over the sponsorship. Whilst with Carpano, Franco Balmamion won the general classification of the Giro d'Italia in 1962 and 1963.

The Switzerland national badminton team represents Switzerland in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by Swiss Badminton, Switzerland's governing body for badminton. The Swiss national team debuted in the Sudirman Cup in 1991. The men's and women's team debuted in the 2006 European Men's and Women's Team Badminton Championships in Greece.
