Coptops andamanica is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Stephan von Breuning in 1935. [1]
Vanilla andamanica is an endangered wild relative of commercial vanilla, Vanilla planifolia, the source of Vanilla essence. It grows in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India in the Bay of Bengal., and classified as a Vulnerable species (VU) by the IUCN Red List.

The fruits are roundish to ellipsoid, up to 3 cm (1 in) in diameter. The tree is named after the Andaman Islands. Habitat is mixed dipterocarp forests from sea-level to 700 metres (2,300 ft) altitude. D. andamanica is found in the Andaman Islands, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo.
