Peter William Nelson, better known by his stage name Copywrite, is an underground rapper from Columbus, Ohio. [1] He is a member of MHz Legacy (formerly known as MHz). [2] He was a member of The Weathermen. [3]

Career

In 2002, Copywrite released his debut album, The High Exhaulted, on Eastern Conference. [4] Production was handled by RJD2, Intalec, Mighty Mi, Camu Tao, and Copywrite himself. [5] It was followed by Cruise Control Mixtape: Volume 1, [6] which featured production from J-Zone, Jake One and Jay Dilla. [7]

In 2010, Copywrite released his second album, entitled The Life and Times of Peter Nelson. [8] The album featured guest appearances from Dilated Peoples, Sean Price, and Middle Distance Runner. [9] It was produced by RJD2, Twiz the Beat Pro, and Surock, among others. [10]

In 2012, Copywrite released his third album, God Save the King , on Man Bites Dog Records. [11] It featured guest appearances from Mac Lethal, Roc Marciano, and Torae. [12]

Personal life

Copywrite is the grandson of the late singer Skip Nelson (born Scipione Mirabella) who most sang and played piano and guitar for the Glenn Miller Band in the 1940s. [13]

Deadringer is the debut studio album by RJD2. It was released on Definitive Jux on July 23, 2002. It features vocal contributions from Blueprint, Jakki da Motamouth, and Copywrite. Some editions include a hidden song on the last track, titled "Here's What's Left." The album was reissued in 2009 with two additional tracks.

The Hrsmn is an American hip hop supergroup consisting of the artists Canibus, Ras Kass, Killah Priest, and Kurupt. They have released two albums. The name of the group is in reference to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who appear in the Book of Revelation from the Bible. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are traditionally named Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death. Throughout the HRSMN songs, there are many references to each of the members representing a specific entity. They are Pestilence, War (Canibus), Famine (Kurupt), and Death. They have each frequently appeared on each of the members solo albums, such as Canibus's 2000 B.C. and Killah Priest's Priesthood. Pharoahe Monch was also closely affiliated, acting as the hype man on the leaked "I'm a Horseman (Promo)" and rapping on "Horsemen" from Canibus's 2000 B.C. . In August 2000, Canibus listed Monch as the fifth member of the group, though further releases in subsequent years would not include or reference him.

Ricardo Emmanuel Brown, better known by his stage name Kurupt, is an American rapper and record producer. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he formed Tha Dogg Pound in 1992 along with Daz Dillinger; the rap duo has released eight albums. He also formed the hip hop group The Hrsmn in 1996, with whom he has released two albums. His debut solo album, Kuruption! (1998) was released by A&M Records and peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200.

The Weathermen was an American hip hop production group, formed in 1998 in Middletown, New York, composed of East Coast rappers and producers Cage Kennylz and Masai Bey, until further expanded into a rap group, and included; Aesop Rock, Tame One, Yak Ballz, El-P, Jakki Tha Motamouth, Camu Tao, Copywrite, Vast Aire, and Breeze Brewin. The group took its name from the revolutionary organization Weather Underground, and its debut album was to be called The New Left.

Originally released in 2004, his first solo album, God vs. Satan, was re-released in 2005. He's best known for his punchlines and excellent storytelling ability.

MHz Legacy, formerly known as MHz, is an American hip hop group from Columbus, Ohio. It consists of producer RJD2 and rappers Copywrite, Tage Future, and Jakki Da Motamouth. Camu Tao was also a member until his death in 2008. It was described by HipHopDX as "one of the city's most influential groups".
