Marco Bruno (born December 26, 1979), better known by his stage name Marco Polo, is a Canadian hip hop record producer. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, he is based in New York City, New York. [1]

Life and career

On December 26, 1979, [2] Marco Polo was born Marco Bruno in Toronto. [3] He is of Italian descent. [4] He went to an audio engineering school in Toronto. [4] In the early 2000s, he moved to New York City. [5] He interned at The Cutting Room Studios. [6]

In 2007, he released a solo studio album, Port Authority . [7] It was nominated for Rap Recording of the Year at the 2008 Juno Awards. [8] In 2009, he released a collaborative album with rapper Torae, titled Double Barrel . [9] In 2010, he released a collaborative album with rapper Ruste Juxx, titled The Exxecution . [10] In 2013, he released a solo studio album, PA2: The Director's Cut . [11] It was nominated for Rap Recording of the Year at the 2015 Juno Awards. [12]

Production was handled solely by Marco Polo, who also served as executive producer together with Masta Ace. It features guest appearances from Elzhi, eMC, Lil' Fame, Marlon Craft, Pav Bundy, Pearl Gates, Pharoahe Monch, Smif-N-Wessun, Styles P and Trini Boy. An eight-track bonus extended play was released in 2019 featuring production from DJ Premier, remixing from the Drum Majors, and guest appearance from Evidence.

The Exxecution is a collaborative studio album by Marco Polo and Ruste Juxx. It was released on Duck Down Music on March 23, 2010. It features guest appearances from DJ Revolution, Rock, Freddie Foxxx, Black Moon, and Sean Price. It peaked at number 42 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart, as well as number 67 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
