D.O. (a.k.a. Defy the Odds; real name Duane Gibson) is a Canadian rapper, motivational speaker and author. [1] [2] He is known for setting the Guinness World Record for the longest freestyle rap in 2003.
D.O. studied at Toronto's York University and graduated with an honours English degree in 2001. [3] [4]
After graduation, he created a school tour program, Stay Driven, to educate students on anti-bullying, anti-violence, peer pressure, leadership and working at peak performance. [4] [5] He has subsequently visited hundreds of schools to speak on those topics and in 2012 published a book Stay Driven: Can't Nobody Hold You Down on the same topics. [2] [6] [7]
In 2007, D.O. released his debut album "The Norhtstarr" the album garnered a nomination from the Ontario Independent Music Awards. [4] In 2009, D.O's sophomore album "Stay Driven" hit number 7 on the Canadian College Charts. [8] In 2012, he released his third solo album "Heavy In The Game" which included the single "Can't Tell Me" featuring SonReal, Famous and Chris Jackson. The track peaked at Number 3 on the US College Hip Hop Charts in July 2012. [1]
D.O. records as a solo artist and is also one-half of the duo Art of Fresh with beatmaker and vocalist Byram Joseph, aka Slakah the Beatchild. [1] [9] In 2009 their debut album "Back to the Earth" reached #2 on the National College Radio Charts. [10] In 2010, the group's song "Out This World" hit number 1 on the US College Hip-Hop Radio Charts. [11] Other musicians that he has collaborated with include DL Incognito, Red 1 of the Rascalz, Classified, Marco Polo, Metty the Dert Merchant (Sweatshop Union), JRDN, Maestro Fresh Wes and others. [3] [4] He videos rotate on MuchMusic, he has toured Canada multiple times and performed globally with stops in Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, New York City, Miami and Las Vegas.
On July 5, 2003, D.O. set a Guinness World Record for the longest freestyle rap at the Dark Nights Nationals car show, an outdoor car festival in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His rap lasted for 8 hours and 45 minutes and was performed in front of hundreds of spectators. Chidera Anamege, now known by his stage name Chiddy Bang, is an American rapper from Philadelphia. Prior to its breakup, Chiddy Bang was an American hip hop duo consisting of Anamege, under the stage name Chiddy, and Noah Beresin, under the stage name Xaphoon Jones. The duo was introduced by former band member Zachary Sewall in late 2008 while the two were studying at Drexel University, in Beresin's hometown of Philadelphia. Anamege's sound is based on the fusion of hip hop and alternative using samples from artists such as Ellie Goulding, Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Passion Pit, MGMT, Matt and Kim and Yelle. In 2013, Beresin left the group to focus on producing, and Anamege became a solo artist, with Beresin playing the role as frequent collaborator.

The 20/20 Project was a Canadian hip hop trio from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2010. The group consisted of MCs D-Squared and producer DJ Unknown. Their style is old school hip hop; their songs, which are mainly produced and mixed by DJ Unknown, focus on wordplay and storytelling.
Employees of the Year is the debut EP from Toronto rap group The 20/20 Project. It was released by Incognito Entertainment on July 27, 2010 and marketed by URBNET Records and was produced, mixed and mastered by DjUnknown. The album features one guest appearance by Akim of Tru-Paz on the remix to the lead single "Back to Work". The EP received generally positive reviews and consistently charted in the top 10 on a number of Campus Radio Stations across Canada. It peaked #1 on Ottawa's CHUO 89.1 hip hop charts the week ending November 16, 2010.
"Stay Schemin'" is a song by American rapper Rick Ross featuring Drake and French Montana, released as a single from his 2012 mixtape Rich Forever. The track was released as a digital download from iTunes on April 17, 2012. It is a hip hop song that interpolates its chorus, sung by French Montana, from an unreleased Nas song titled "Day Dreamin, Stay Schemin", which covers the Kurtis Blow song, "Daydreamin'", with new lyrics.
