Corey Eugene Millen (born March 30, 1964) is an American former professional ice hockey center. He played in the National Hockey League between 1990 and 1997 with five teams. Internationally he played for the American national team at several tournaments, including the 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympics. In 2020, he was named the head coach of the St. Cloud Norsemen in the North American Hockey League. [1]

Career

NHL

Millen played for the University of Minnesota after being selected by the New York Rangers in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft.

Millen started his National Hockey League career with the Rangers in 1990 where he appeared in four games. He also played for the Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames. He was sent to the Calgary Flames along with Jarome Iginla in the trade which sent Joe Nieuwendyk to the Dallas Stars. He left the NHL after the 1997 season.

Europe

After playing four years with the University of Minnesota, Millen moved to Europe for the first time, where he played in the Swiss Nationalliga A from 1987 to 1989 along with Dale McCourt, wearing the jersey of HC Ambri-Piotta. At the end of this period he moved back to the U.S. where he started his NHL career with the Rangers.

In 1997 Millen joined the Cologne Sharks of Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga. He played in Cologne until the end of the 2001–02 season. In 2002–03 he moved to Switzerland and joined HC Lugano of the Nationalliga A for one season and spent a second season with Nationalliga B team EHC Visp before retiring from hockey in 2004.

Coaching

In 2011, Millen became the head coach of the Alaska Avalanche in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). He then was head coach of the Minnesota Wilderness in the NAHL from 2013 to 2016.

Millen became the head coach of the St. Cloud Norsemen in the NAHL in 2020 and is presently coaching there.

St. Louis was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018; his first year of eligibility. He was one of two players inducted into the Tampa Bay Lightning Hall of Fame in their inaugural year on March 17, 2023. St. Louis is widely considered one of the best undrafted players of all time.

A first round selection of the Los Angeles Kings at the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, Gélinas was sent to the Oilers as part of the 1988 Wayne Gretzky trade before ever playing a game for the Kings.

He was replaced with former team color commentator Sherry Ross. Chorske returned to Minnesota and now works in business and is hockey analyst for Fox Sports North covering The NHL Minnesota Wild and University of Minnesota Golden Gopher NCAA hockey games.

The St. Cloud Norsemen is a Tier II junior ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League's (NAHL) Central Division. The Norsemen play out of the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The team consists of players ranging in age from 16–20 years old who relocate from anywhere in the United States, with a limited number of international players. The team plays a 60-game schedule from September to March.

Paul Gordon Baxter is a Canadian former ice hockey defenceman who played in the World Hockey Association from 1974 to 1979, the National Hockey League from 1979 to 1987. He featured in the 1986 Stanley Cup Finals with the Calgary Flames. He then worked as an assistant coach for eleven seasons.

He played 27 games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, and Florida Panthers between 1993 and 1999. He later spent several seasons playing in the Swiss Nationalliga A and Deutsche Eishockey Liga, and retired in 2006. Ferguson was drafted by the Canadiens in the seventh round, 146th overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft.

Lance Nethery is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre and coach, and current executive. He played 41 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers during the 1980–81 and 1981–82 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1979 to 1990, was split between the minor leagues and then in Europe, mainly in the Swiss Nationalliga A. After his playing career Nethrey became a coach and manager in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, working in those roles between 1993 and 2019.
