Crooked Lake is a State registered Outstanding Florida Water that is located in southeast Polk County, Florida, United States. The lake is located west of Babson Park, north and west of Hillcrest Heights and east of Crooked Lake Park. Webber International University is beached on the waterfront. Crooked Lake is one of the largest lakes in Polk County both in terms of area and total volume with a maximum depth of 45 feet (14 m) and over 21.6 billion US gallons (82×10^6 m3) of water. [1] Originally known as Caloosa Lake by the Indians, [2] it is located on the Lake Wales Ridge, one of the highest areas in peninsula Florida.

Withlacoochee River (Florida) River in Florida, United States

The Withlacoochee River originates in central Florida's Green Swamp, east of Polk City. It flows west, then north, and then turns northwest and finally west again before it empties into the Gulf of Mexico near Yankeetown. The river is 141 miles (227 km) long and has a drainage basin of 1,170 square miles (3,000 km2). It is believed to have been named after the Withlacoochee River to the north.

Lake Aurora

Lake Aurora is a freshwater lake located in eastern Polk County, Florida. The lake is approximately 9 miles (14 km) east of Lake Wales on State Road 60. While not a very big lake, the lake is relatively deep compared to other central Florida lakes with an average depth of 12 ft (3.7 m) and a maximum depth of 45 ft (14 m). The depth of the lake as well as its crystal blue waters indicate that the lake was probably once a sinkhole which filled with water. The lake is in an area east of the Lake Wales Ridge dominated by scrub oak with occasional sandspur clearings. The lake is perhaps best known for being the home of the Lake Aurora Christian Camp and Retreat Center, a summer camp owned by Christian churches in the central Florida area.

Legoland Florida

Legoland Florida Resort is a vacation destination in Winter Haven, Florida featuring a theme park, water park and on-site accommodations. It opened as Legoland Florida on October 15, 2011, and later rebranded itself Legoland Florida Resort with the opening of Legoland Hotel in May 2015. The park encompasses 145 acres (0.59 km2), making it the second-largest Legoland park after Legoland Windsor in the UK. Built on the site of the former Cypress Gardens theme park, Legoland preserved the botanical gardens and re-themed the water park and select attractions and venues to reflect various Lego brands.

Lake Eloise

Lake Eloise is a large natural freshwater lake on the south side of Winter Haven, Florida. It is part of the southern Chain of Lakes. With a 1,174-acre (4,750,000 m2) surface area, it is one of the larger lakes in Polk County, Florida. Lake Eloise has a somewhat oval shape and has a large cove on its south side. It borders Lake Summit on its northeast and it almost borders Lake Lulu on its northwest. Lake Eloise is mostly surrounded by residential areas. However, the northern half of its eastern shore is occupied by Legoland Florida, which was once Cypress Gardens, a large area theme park. Some citrus groves border the lake on its west side. Eloise Loop Road passes by the south end of the cove on the lake's south side.

Lake Howard (Winter Haven, Florida)

Lake Howard is a fresh water lake, located in Winter Haven, Florida. The lake is part of the headwaters of the Peace River watershed. Lake Howard is a prominent lake in Winter Haven's Chain of Lakes. Lake Howard is on the southern chain of lakes. It is connected to Lake Cannon, to the north-west, and Lake May, to the south-east. Lake Howard has a surface area of 624 acres. It has a mean depth of 10.9 feet (3.3 m), and maximum depth of 18.7 feet (5.7 m).
