Crystal Newman (born Angela Newman in Nairobi) is a Ugandan radio and television presenter. Newman presented The Drive and Hit Selector shows at 88.2 Sanyu FM, located in Kampala, Uganda. [1]

Career

Newman retired from radio presenting after 18 years in August 2018. [2] She was considered one of the most recognisable voices in Uganda. [3]

In August–September 2018, Newman was host of the Uganda Festival 2018 in Washington DC. [4]

Newman hosted the first and second season's of reality television show NSSF Friends with Benefits alongside Gaetano Kagwa in 2015 and 2017. [5] [6]

Person life

Newman's parents were Sande Newman, a Ugandan Aircraft pilot and Alex Newman, a former United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees worker. [7] She was one of four girls in the family. [8]

Newman graduated with Bachelor of Science in mass communications at Makerere University. [3]

Alex Julius Kwesigabo, better known by his stage name Flex D'Paper, is a Ugandan rapper and songwriter born and raised in Kampala. Anita Kyarimpa better known as Anita Fabiola is a Ugandan actress, tourism ambassador, Event host, business woman, and former beauty queen. In February 2019 she was appointed as a Goodwill Tourism ambassador headlining the "Tulambule" campaign in liaison with the Uganda Tourism Board to promote tourism all over Uganda. Prior to hosting the Be my date show on NTV in 2014, Fabiola became Miss Uganda West and the first runner-up in the overall Miss Uganda beauty pageant in 2013. She is also known for hosting some of the Africa's biggest red carpet events. Janzi Band, sometimes simply Janzi, is a Ugandan afro-fusion, contemporary and world music group formed on 27 August 2009 by Ssewa Ssewa and friends Abraham Sekasi, Jackson Kirya and Steven Oundo. The band has a hybrid repertoire of music, including notable covers as well as an original ethno-pop discography. <i>Kyaddala</i> Ugandan television series

Kyaddala is a Ugandan drama television series by Reach a Hand Uganda. The first season was produced by Emmanuel Ikubese Films and Reach a Hand Uganda. Set in a present day high school life, Kyaddala a Luganda word for "It's Real", focuses on real life social issues that affect young people across Africa and their attempts to overcome those issues. The series features actors and actresses from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria. Kyaddala premiered on 27 September 2019 at Kingdom Kampala.

Malaika Tenshi Nnyanzi professionally known by her mononym as Malaika is a Ugandan actress, media personality, model and fashionista. She is mostly known for her radio work on the D’Mighty Breakfast show on KFM and Malaika and Oulanya on Capital Fm as well as her acting work on Veronica's Wish, Bed of Thorns, The Honourables and Mela.

Nancy Linda Kalembe is a Ugandan politician.

Nabulya Theopista Ssentongo was a Ugandan politician in the eighth and ninth Parliament of Uganda. She was the Workers' Representative for National Resistance Movement Workers District.
