Cuillin FM is a radio station which broadcasts from Portree on the Isle of Skye to the Isle of Skye, Lochalsh and Wester Ross on the Scottish mainland. The station takes its name from a mountain range on Skye, which also make up the background of the stations logo.

Programming

The station broadcasts live from their studio in Portree from 7.30 to 9 am then 3 pm to midnight Monday to Friday; 10 am to midnight on a Saturday and 9.00 am to 11 pm on Sunday. The rest of the time programmes from earlier in the week are repeated. The station has a duty to provide at least three hours of Gaelic programming per week. The Vodafone Big Top 40 is produced by Capital Radio at its Capital studio in London for broadcast on 140 local commercial radio stations across the UK.

Cuillin FM also has outside broadcasting facilities for charity, community event coverage such as The Highland Games, Piping Festivals, Battle of the Bands, agricultural shows and Youth Speaks. [1]

The morning service from Portree Free Church is aired on Cuillin FM between 2 pm and 3 pm each Sunday. [2]

Breakfast Show

Cuillin FM broadcasts a daily Breakfast Show (Monday to Friday) between 0730 and 0900. Current presenters are; Drew Millar, Ruth Taylor and Robert MacInnes.

Drivetime Show

The ‘Dol Dhachaigh’ drivetime show is broadcast live Monday to Friday from 1630 to 1800. Current presenters are; Hector Cormack, Catriona MacLean and Drew Millar.
