Cyberpunk Fiction: A Synthcore "Soundtrack" is a various artists compilation album released on November 17, 1998 by Re-Constriction Records.
Aiding & Abetting gave it mixed review, praising the execution while saying "the spoken parts sound a little hokey" and the "music sounds like rote walkthroughs." [2] Sonic Boom called the album a parody masterpiece and "not only are most of the cover interpretations by Synthcore and Electro bands dazzling but the re-written dialogue is the funniest thing I have heard in years." [3] Chris Best of Lollipop Magazine praised the "concoction of heavy beats and eerily juxtaposed melodies", saying "the fit is strange and awkward, but the accidental result is that each group transforms their sound from typical dance floor industrial into a totally new beast." [4]

Re-Constriction Records was a division of Cargo Music based in California. The label was founded in 1992 and headed by Chase, who was previously the Music Director at KCR, a student radio station on the campus of San Diego State University. They specialized in releasing bands belonging to the industrial, grindcore, electroclash, aggrotech and EBM genres.
Distort is a remix album by Collide, released on January 13, 1998 by Re-Constriction Records. The album was remastered and re-released with a few additional tracks for the 2006 release.
Diatribe was an industrial rock group from San Jose, California active in the 1990s. They had a sound similar to 16 Volt and Chemlab, integrating synthesizers and vocal samples with more traditional rock instruments. SMP are an American industrial music group formed in Seattle, Washington. The original incarnation consisted of Jason Bazinet and Sean Ivy before Ivy left to join Christ Analogue in 1998, allowing SMP to function as a solo vehicle for Bazinet's musical output. The project was then put on hiatus in 2008, before being brought back in 2010. SMP continues to issue albums digitally with Hacked Vol. 2 being released in 2016 by Music Ration Entertainment.
TV Terror: Felching a Dead Horse is a various artists compilation album released on September 23, 1997, by Re-Constriction Records. The idea came to fruition when Permission founder Jayson Elliot discovered Monochrome - A Tribute to the Sisters of Mercy via a car ride through Chicago in June 1994 and compiled the music on the second disc. Its release was the cause of the first utterance of the word "felch" on national television when Kurt Loder reported its release on MTV News.

Purr Machine are an American electro-industrial group based in Los Angeles, California, and comprising guitarist Kirk Hellie, bassist Kevin Kipnis and vocalist Betsy Martin. They band were known for their atmospheric blend of electronica, gothic music and industrial rock. With Kevin Kipnis serving as their main songwriter and programmer, Purr Machine released Speak Clearly and Ging Ging respectively in 1999 and 2000 for Re-Constriction Records. Purr Machine's second studio album Starry was released in 2007 by No Bliss Lost Records.
