In July 1998, two years after the sale of the station to Entercom, the station switched to its final KDND call letters and contemporary hit radio format branded as 107.9 The End. At the time of the station's closing, KDND's studios were located in North Highlands, while its transmitter was located just north of the Sacramento city limits near Elverta.
