Dachung Musa Bagos (born 4 June 1977) is a Nigerian politician who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party from Plateau State, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigeria Federal House of Representatives [1] from Jos South/Jos East federal constituency of Plateau State in the 9th National Assembly. He was elected to the House in 2019. [2] [3] [4] Bagos was re-elected into the Federal House of Representatives for the second time in the 2023 general election. [5] [6]

Education

After studying at Ekan Primary School, he obtained his tertiary education at the Jos Development Enterprise Commercial School where he received a Diploma in Secretariat Administration. [7] Dachung proceeded to the University of Jos where he obtained a Diploma in Law and subsequently, the Jos ECWA Theological Seminary to broaden his spectrum of Education and knowledge. [8]

Personal life and philanthropy

To improve the educational quality of his constituency, Honorable Dachung Musa Bagos has commissioned two modern classrooms with office, store and solar power for pupils of Gwandang LEA Primary School, Bukuru-Gyel of Jos South LGA of Plateau State. [9] He has also paid school fees for female students of Government Technical College Bukuru and distributes hundreds of exercise books to the students of the institution. [10] His foundation, Dachung Musa Bagos Foundation has given scholarship to 598 students of Government Secondary School Godong in Jos East LGA, and Government Secondary School Chugwi in Jos South LGA. [11]

Jos is a city in the North-Central region of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The city has a population of about 900,000 residents based on the 2006 census. Popularly called "J-Town", it is the administrative capital and largest city of Plateau State. With natural formations of rocks, hills and waterfalls, it derives its name from the Jos Plateau and has a population of around 4.7 million people.

The Berom is one of the largest autochthonous ethnic group in Plateau State, central Nigeria. Covering about four local government areas, which include Jos North, Jos South, Barkin Ladi (Gwol) and Riyom. Berom people are also found in some southern Kaduna State local government areas like Fadan Karshe with Berom settlers tracing their origins to Za'ang (Zawan) a Berom district on the Jos Plateau. They emigrated during the British Colonial Government of Nigeria. A large number of this tribe, if not all, are Christians. Statistics also have it that a large number of the population of Plateau State is made up of Berom people.

Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who has served as Senator for Sokoto South since 2023. He served as the governor of Sokoto State from 2015 to 2023. He is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, and served as the 12th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria from 2011 to 2015.
