Geography

Dada Nagar is 3 km from Govindpuri Railway Station and 7 km from the Kanpur Metro railway station. Malviya Chauraha is a popular landmark in the residential colony.

Economy

This industrial area has many industries such as Ghari Industries and Red Chief. Branches of several nationalised Banks such as State Bank of India, Dena Bank, Allahabad Bank.

Transport

Dada Nagar Chauraha connects traffic from southern Kanpur (Govind Nagar, Ratan Lal Nagar, Barra) with Vijay Nagar. In November 2013, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav [1] inaugurated the Dada Nagar rail-over-bridge. Dada Nagar Colony is surrounded by two major Railway Line routes.

Education

Jajmau also known as Jajesmow during British Era, is a suburb of Kanpur, India. It is situated on the banks of the Ganges River. Jajmau is an industrial suburb. It has the population of about 652,831 according to census 2011. It is believed to be the oldest inhabited place in the region. The main industry is the leather industry. It is home to some of the biggest leather tanneries in Northern India. The excavations conducted here by the Archaeological Survey of India suggest that it dates back to c. 1300 – 1200 BCE. Earthen pottery, tools and various historical artifacts discovered by the Archaeological Survey of India are presently kept in the Kanpur Sangrahalaya. The area comes under the jurisdiction of Kanpur metropolitan area.

Becon Ganj is a residential and commercial area situated in the central of Kanpur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The locality is named after British magistrate of Kanpur in 1828 named William Bacon. One of the oldest parts of Kanpur, Becon Ganj was known for its Big Market, narrow streets and old buildings some of which were demolished in the 1990s to build commercial structures.

The network will consist of 2 elevated lines serving 27 stations with a total length of 27.41 kilometres. The project is estimated to cost 4,672 crore (US$560 million). It is expected to be completed by 2027.
