Dailanor, also known as Daylanor, is a village in Kandahar Province of Afghanistan. [1] [2] It is located in Nesh District. [3]

During the War in Afghanistan, 3 U.S. soldiers were injured near Dailanor when their convoy was ambushed in 2004. [4] [5] The village was considered to be a strohold of Taliban. [6]

Operation Mountain Fury was a NATO-led operation begun on September 16, 2006 as a follow-up operation to Operation Medusa, to clear Taliban insurgents from the eastern provinces of Afghanistan. Kandahar Central Jail, also known as Sarpuza Prison, is a minimum-security prison in Kandahar, Afghanistan. It is located next to the Kandahar-Herat Highway in the Sarpuza neighborhood, which is between the neighborhoods of Mirwais Mena and Shahr-e Naw, in the western part of the city. Its current warden is Sayed Akhtar Mohammad Agha Hussaini.
