Dale Mallory (born November 2,1964) is an American politician and former Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives,representing the 32nd District from 2007 to 2014.
Mallory formerly served as a Cincinnati West End Community Council President,but later he became embroiled in a local dispute over a development for the homeless that led to his ouster as head of the council. [1] Mallory worked for General Electric as a manufacturing facilitator. He is also a precinct executive in the Hamilton County Democratic Party and a ward chairman.
With incumbent Catherine Barrett term limited,Mallory entered the race to succeed her. The seat had formerly been held by Mallory's father,William L. Mallory Sr. as well as his brother,Mark Mallory. In the 2006 Democratic primary,Mallory faced former Hamilton County Recorder Eve Bolton,as well as two others. However,he won with approximately 45% of the vote. [2] He went on to win the general election against Republican Kimberly Hale by 9,000 votes. [3] Mallory easily won reelection in 2008.
For the 128th General Assembly,Mallory was named Second Vice President of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus,and Speaker of the House Armond Budish named Mallory Chairman of the House Environment &Brownfields Development Committee.
Mallory won reelection to a third term in the 2010 general election. He served on the committees of Agriculture and Natural Resources;Local Government;and as ranking member of the Transportation,Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee. He also served on the Southern Ohio Agricultural and Community Development Foundation Board of Trustees and the Ohio Athletic Commission.
With Cincinnati being hit hard with a bedbug epidemic,in 2011 Mallory urged the United States Environmental Protection Agency to allow the use of the pesticide propoxur to combat the pests. [4]
In November 2012,Mallory won a final term against Republican Ron Mosby with 76.31% of the vote. [5]
In April 2014, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Mallory had the worst attendance record of any healthy member of the General Assembly since 2011. [6]
In May 2014,Mallory lost the Democratic primary for Ohio State Senator for the 9th District. [7]
On October 29,2014,Mallory pleaded guilty in Franklin County Municipal Court to two misdemeanor counts related to his having improperly accepted and failed to disclose gifts from lobbyists. Under a plea agreement,Mallory pleaded guilty to a first-degree misdemeanor count of filing a false disclosure form and a fourth-degree misdemeanor charge of improper gratuities. Mallory's attorney acknowledged that the charges were brought as the result of an FBI investigation into payday lending lobbying activities at the Ohio Statehouse,but advised the court that there was no indication Mallory was involved in any federal offenses. [8] On December 11,2014,Mallory was sentenced to a total of $600 in fines and 1 year of probation. [9]

Incumbent Jean Schmidt,who won the seat in a special election in 2005,ran for reelection. She faced Democrat Victoria Wells Wulsin,a doctor from Indian Hill,in the general election. Results showed that Schmidt won reelection by 1.26%,and Wulsin conceded the race.
Jennifer Lee Brunner is an American attorney,politician and judge. She is currently an associate justice of the Ohio Supreme Court,a position to which she was elected after serving as a judge on Ohio's Tenth District Court of Appeals. On June 8,2021,Brunner announced her candidacy for Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court in the November 8,2022,general election. Brunner is a member of the Democratic Party who served as the Ohio Secretary of State;Brunner was the first woman to serve in this capacity. She took office after sixteen years of Republican control,which included two four-year terms by her predecessor J. Kenneth Blackwell,who oversaw the 2000 and 2004 United States elections. Brunner served only a single term as Secretary of State. When it came time for re-election in 2010,she instead made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate. Prior to being elected Secretary of State,Brunner worked in the Ohio Secretary of State's Office and served as a County Judge in Franklin County,Ohio. She also owned her own private practice;during her private practice career,she focused on election law and campaign finance law. She represented a broad range of candidates,businesses,political parties and committees before the Ohio Elections Commission on quasi-criminal matters.
William J. Seitz III is the state representative for the 30th district of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican. The district consists of Cheviot,Delhi Township,Green as well as portions of Cincinnati,in Hamilton County. Formerly,Seitz represented the same seat from 2001 to 2007. He served in the Ohio Senate from 2007 to 2016. He has also served as Majority Leader since 2017 serving under five different speakers and two interim speakers. After 24 years in the Ohio General Assembly,Seitz has decided to retire at the end of his term in 2024.

From 2005 to 2009,Husted served as Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and remains the 7th youngest person to ever become Ohio House Speaker. Husted was elected Ohio Secretary of State in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. He was a candidate in the Republican Party primary for Governor of Ohio in the 2018 election but later announced that he would instead run for lieutenant governor of Ohio as Attorney General Mike DeWine's running mate.

W. Carlton Weddington is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 27th District. He resigned his Ohio House seat after his indictment on bribery and ethics charges in March 2012,the first sitting state legislator in Ohio indicted for bribery in 100 years. Weddington was convicted of the charges and sentenced in June 2012 to three years in prison.

The close of registration for electors in the primary election was December 16,2015,and the primary election took place on March 15,2016. Incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman faced former Democratic Governor Ted Strickland. Green Party nominee Joseph DeMare was also on the ballot along with two other independent candidates and one officially declared write-in candidate.
