The uncut 24/7 version of the series can also be seen on the internet through Kumu, a Philippine online livestreaming app, as part of their partnership on the current season, as carried over from the previous season. Kumunity Season 10, the recently concluded season, was hosted by Bianca Gonzalez and Robi Domingo.

It aims to feature young aspiring singers aged 6–12. It is the fourth national franchise in the Southeast Asian region to produce a kids' edition of the show, after Thailand and Vietnam. Since its inaugural season, it has aired a total of five seasons. The winners of the five seasons were: Lyca Gairanod, Elha Nympha, Joshua Oliveros, Vanjoss Bayaban, and Shane Bernabe.

The show premiered on January 23, 2016, replacing the second season of Your Face Sounds Familiar after it ended on December 13, 2015, whose timeslot was temporarily occupied by the temporary weekend block Kapamilya Weekend Specials following the TV airing of Thank You for the Love: The 2015 ABS-CBN Christmas Special. It was originally aired at 9:30 PM, however, after Dance Kids ended, it was moved to an earlier timeslot of 7:30 PM to give way for I Love OPM.

The series is an adaptation of the Israeli show of the same name produced by Armoza Formats, where celebrity contestants will be challenged to showcase various entertainment acts within one week of practice. Andree Camille Lapidario Bonifacio, known professionally as AC Bonifacio, is a Canadian-born Filipino dancer, singer, vlogger and actress known for being the first ever grand champion of Filipino TV dance competition Dance Kids along with Lucky Ancheta In 2016. The duo was called "Lucky Aces." Before winning the said competition, the duo was featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and had a chance to meet and perform with American popstar Ariana Grande on Grande's show in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2015. Bonifacio also competed on the Kids edition of Philippine TV Show Your Face Sounds Familiar where she finished as 3rd placer. She also made her acting debut on Wansapanataym Presents: The Amazing Ving in which she played "Mika".

Billy Crawford, Maja Salvador, and Gary Valenciano serve as the judges, with Luis Manzano and Pia Wurtzbach as hosts. The winning dance act received a prize of ₱2,000,000 and a chance to compete in World of Dance USA.
