Daniel Ovidiu Tudor (born 1 June 1974) is a Romanian football coach and a former goalkeeper, currently goalkeeping coach at Liga I club Universitatea Craiova.
Daniel Tudor was born on 1 June 1974 in Frăsinet, Romania. [1] He started playing senior level football in 1993 at Flacăra Moreni in Divizia B. [1] In 1995 he went to play for Dinamo București where on 27 February 1996 coach Marian Bondrea gave him his Divizia A debut in a 1–0 away loss in front of Argeș Pitești. [1] [2] In the following years Tudor was loaned by Dinamo to various teams of Romanian football, firstly back at Moreni but this time in the third league, then at Farul Constanța in Divizia A, afterwards at Rocar București which he helped promote from the second to the first league, his last loan being at Universitatea Craiova in the first league. [1] He came back to Dinamo for the 2002–03 season at end of which he won under the guidance of coach Ioan Andone the Cupa României, keeping a clean sheet in the 1–0 win over Național București from the final, being named "The man of the match". In July 2003, Tudor signed with Fehérvár where he was colleague with fellow Romanians Gabriel Vochin, Marian Savu and Ion Voicu. [5] On 26 July coach János Csank gave him his Nemzeti Bajnokság I debut in a 1–1 with Pécsi. [6] [7] On 22 May 2004 he scored the only goal of his career from a penalty in a 6–1 win over Lombard Pápa. [1] [6] [8] In his last season he won the 2005–06 Magyar Kupa but coach Aurél Csertői did not use him in the final. [3] [9] During his period spent at Fehérvár he was nicknamed "Pink Panther", at one point the Hungarians considering giving him Hungarian citizenship in order to play for the national team, however he left because of some unpaid salaries, moving back to Romania at UTA Arad. After two seasons at Arad he signed with Unirea Urziceni with whom in his first season he won the title but coach Dan Petrescu used him in only two matches as first-choice goalkeeper was Giedrius Arlauskis. [1] [3] [10] Afterwards he participated with Urziceni in the 2009–10 Champions League group stage, on 20 October 2009 he made his single appearance in the competition, saving a Steven Davis penalty to help his side win 4–1 with Rangers on the Ibrox Stadium. [3] [11] [12] In the same season on 10 April 2010, Tudor played his last Liga I match, a 1–1 with FC Vaslui, having a total of 114 appearances in the competition. [1] [13] He completely ended his career after playing seven games for Juventus București in the second half of the 2010–11 Liga II season. [1] [14]

The 2008–09 season is FC Vaslui's 7th season of its existence, and its 4th in a row, in Liga I. Because it finished 7th, FC Vaslui played on UEFA Intertoto Cup in the third round. FC Vaslui passed by Neftchi Baku, and it qualified for the 3rd preliminary round of UEFA Cup. In the play-off, it was eliminated by Slavia Prague, because of the away goal rule, being the only Romanian team, who was eliminated, without losing in UEFA Cup that season. In the championship, they started perfectly, after a 1–0 win against FC Steaua București and a 3–1 win against arch rivals Poli Iaşi. But because of the injuries, the team results began to be poor. After a 1–1 draw with Gaz Metan Mediaş, Viorel Hizo was dismissed, and Viorel Moldovan was named the new coach. The team entered in the winter break, on the 9th place. In the winter break, Adrian Porumboiu spent over 3 million €, for new signings, being the only Romanian team, who were not affected by the Global Economical Crisis. With Moldovan, the team reached the semi-finals of Romanian Cup, but after a 1–4 loss against Gloria Buzău, Moldovan was also sacked, and as a manager, was named the assistant Dulca. With Dulca as a coach, FC Vaslui resurrected, and saved its season, in the last 2 games, after a 1–0 win against FC Rapid București, and also a 1–0 win against Universitatea Craiova in front of 25.000 fans on Ion Oblemencu. The team finished 5th, and qualified in the 3rd round of UEFA Europa League.

The 2009–10 season of Unirea Urziceni began on 25 July with the first training session, led by the team's head coach Dan Petrescu. After several friendlies the first competitive game was the Romanian Supercup against CFR Cluj on 26 July 2009. The match ended 1–1 in regular time, but CFR Cluj managed to win the cup after the penalty shootout, in which Răzvan Pădureţu, Raul Rusescu and Sorin Frunză missed.
The 2010–11 Cupa României was the seventy-third season of the annual Romanian football knockout tournament. It began on 17 July 2010 with the matches of the first round. For the third consecutive season, CFR Cluj were the defending champions. However, CFR were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Gloria Bistriţa, and the cup was won by FCSB for the first time after 12 years.
