Danielli Yuri-Barbosa (born January 3, 1984) is a judoka from Brazil.
Yuri-Barbosa was born in Registro, São Paulo, but she lives in São Caetano do Sul.
She began with judo in Japan. When she was little her family moved to Japan to make some money. Her father worked there in factories and when they came back to Brazil he opened a judo school. [1]
Yuri likes to be with her family, she likes reading, watching movies. Her favorite actor is Samuel L. Jackson. She can't to say "no" when somebody asked her for a favor and during matches she uses same hairgrip. [2]
Before the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, the Brazilian Judo Federation was unsure who would represent Brazil in half-middleweight. They hesitated between mature Vânia Ishii and young Yuri, but Yuri was chosen.
At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing she was eliminated in the first round by Korean Kong Ja-young. It was an aggressive match where Yuri was leading by wazari but two minutes before the end she made a mistake and Kong won by ippon. [3]

The Fuwa were the mascots of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The designs were created by Han Meilin, a famous Chinese artist. The designs were publicly announced by the National Society of Chinese Classic Literature Studies on 11 November 2005 at an event marking the 1000th day before the opening of the games.

Edinanci Fernandes da Silva is a judoka from Brazil, who won the gold medal in the half heavyweight division (–78 kg) at the Pan American Games. A resident of São Paulo born in Sousa, Paraíba, she represented her country at four consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Equatorial Guinea competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, which was held from 8 to 24 August 2008. The country's participation at London marked its seventh appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation included the sprinter Reginaldo Ndong, middle-distance runner Emilia Mikue Ondo and half-middleweight judoka José Mba Nchama. Ndong and Mikue Ondo qualified for the Games through wildcard places and Mba Nchama entered through his ranking at the 2007 African Judo Championships. Mikue Ondo was chosen as the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Ndong and Mikue Ondo progressed no farther than the first round of their respective events and Mba Nchama was eliminated from contention in the second round of the contest.
Paula Belén Pareto is an Argentine retired judoka and physician. She was the flag bearer for her country at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Ketleyn Lima Quadros is a Brazilian judoka. She won a bronze medal in the 57 kg weight class at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and became the first Brazilian woman to win an Olympic medal in an individual sport.

Nihel Cheikh Rouhou is a Tunisian judoka. She competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in the +78 kg event.
Eduardo Santos is a Brazilian judoka, who played for the middleweight category. He won the bronze medal for his category at the 2010 South American Games in Medellín, Colombia.
Esther San Miguel Busto is a Spanish judoka. She has won six national titles and two European titles for the half-heavyweight division (78 kg). She is also a bronze medalist at the 2003 World Judo Championships in Osaka, Japan, and has captured a total of twenty-seven World Cup medals, including eight golds. San Miguel is a member of Centro de Alto Rendimiento Madrid Judo Club, and is coached by Sacramento Moyano.
Leire Iglesias Armiño is a Spanish judoka, who played for the middleweight category. She is a five-time World Cup champion, and a silver medalist at the 2008 European Judo Championships in Lisbon, Portugal. She also won two bronze medals for the same division at the 1999 Summer Universiade in Palma de Mallorca, and at the 2003 Summer Universiade in Jeju City, South Korea.
Kim Young-Ran is a South Korean judoka, who played for the extra-lightweight category. She is a three-time medalist for the 48 kg class at the Asian Judo Championships. She also won two silver medals in the same division at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, and at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, losing out to Japan's Kayo Kitada, and China's Gao Feng, respectively.
Kang Sin-young is a South Korean judoka, who played for the lightweight category. She won a silver medal for her division at the 2008 Asian Judo Championships in Jeju City, and bronze at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.
Charles Koshiro Chibana is a judoka from Brazil of Japanese origin. He won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. In addition, he won a gold medal at the 2014 and 2016 Pan American Judo Championships and a bronze medal at the 2013 edition.
