Danny Groulx (born March 27, 1990) is a Canadian former professional football offensive lineman who played for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He attended Laval University, where he played CIS football for the Laval Rouge et Or.

Early life

Groulx played hockey from 7 to 14 years before changing to football. He played high school football at École secondaire de la Montée and played for the cougars of the Champlain College Lennoxville. [1] [2] From 2010 to 2014, Groulx played for the Laval Rouge et Or. [3] He was on the 2012 and 2013 Rouge et Or teams that won the Vanier Cup. [2] In his senior year, Groulx played in only four games, playing three at left tackle and one at right tackle. [4] He missed multiple games due to an ankle injury. [5] Despite this, he played in the 2014 East-West Bowl on Team East. [4]

Professional career

Groulx attended National Football League (NFL) regional and superregional combines and was eligible for the 2015 NFL draft, but went undrafted. [6] Groulx attended a rookie mini-camp with the New York Giants of the NFL. [7] He also attended the national CFL Combine in Toronto. He was among the top draft prospects in the CFL for 2015, being ranked 4th in September, 8th in December, [8] and 5th in the final rankings by the CFL Scouting Bureau. [9] [10] [11] Groulx was selected in the first round of the 2015 CFL Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos with the 7th overall pick. [4] The Eskimos signed him to a contract on May 28, and he remained on the active roster on the offensive line after the preseason. [12] [13] Groulx made his CFL debut in the season opener against the Toronto Argonauts on June 27, 2015. [14] He played the first two games of his rookie season as a right guard and went on to play ten games that season. [15] [16] He was released on January 22, 2018. [17]

Animation career

After his final season as a football player, Groulx then made his debuts as an animator at Squeeze animation. He is currently a gameplay animator at Ubisoft. He also gives lectures at l'école NAD-UQAC.

Adarius Bowman is an American former professional football wide receiver in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Bowman was also a member Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, and Edmonton Eskimos/Elks. He played college football at Oklahoma State. Bowman was a Grey Cup Champion and three time CFL All-Star having accumulated 652 receptions for 9,491 yards and 49 touchdowns in 141 career games.

Jacques Chapdelaine is a Canadian football coach and former professional slotback in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He most recently served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He has also served as the offensive coordinator for four other CFL teams, the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes (2016-17), and the head coach for two Canadian university football teams. He has won three Grey Cup championships as an assistant coach and one Vanier Cup as the head coach of the Laval Rouge et Or. Shamawd Chambers is a former Canadian football wide receiver. He most recently played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). After the 2011 CIS season, he was ranked as the third best player in the Canadian Football League's Amateur Scouting Bureau final rankings for players eligible in the 2012 CFL Draft and second by players in Canadian Interuniversity Sport. At the 2012 CFL Evaluation Camp, Chambers ran the fastest 40-yard dash, clocking in at 4.42. He was selected sixth overall by the Edmonton Eskimos in the 2012 CFL Draft.

The 2013 CFL Draft took place on Monday, May 6, 2013, at 12:00 PM ET on TSN. 60 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The Montreal Alouettes had the most selections with nine, followed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with eight. Each of the West Division teams had seven picks while Winnipeg had six. The defending Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts had five picks and Ottawa chose four players from NCAA schools that would play another year. A total of 16 trades were made involving draft picks from this year, including two made on draft day itself, with 12 being made by the Edmonton Eskimos. Of the 60 draft selections, 44 players were drafted from Canadian Interuniversity Sport institutions, which is the highest number of CIS players taken since the 1987 CFL Draft when 50 of 72 were taken. It is also the highest percentage (73.3%) of CIS players taken since 2009.
