Danny Sapani (born 15 November 1970) is a British actor who works in British, American and Indian films. [1] He is best known for appearing in Little Britain , Misfits , Doctor Who , Penny Dreadful , The Crown , Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Black Panther .
Sapani was born in London, one of six children of immigrant Ghanaian parents. He was raised in Hackney, and first pursued his interest in acting at the Weekend Arts College in Kentish Town. [2] He trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. [3]
Sapani appeared in Danny Boyle's film Trance . His stage credits include August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone and Radio Golf , Errol John's Caribbean classic Moon on a Rainbow Shawl and The National Theatre production of Euripides' Medea . He has also acted in the 2013 Indian action film, Singam II as drug lord Michael Kong. [4]
In 2021 he played alongside Adrian Lester in the streamed version of Lolita Chakrabarti's Hymn from the Almeida theatre in London. Their performances were described as 'captivating, delicately picking out the nuances of two men who are simultaneously complete and broken'. [5]
His TV roles include appearances on Misfits , Ultimate Force and Blackout , while his television guest appearances include Judge John Deed and the Doctor Who episode "A Good Man Goes to War." as Colonel Manton. For the first two seasons, Sapani played the role of Sembene in Showtime's Penny Dreadful . [6]
On 19 August 2019 Deadline reported that Sapani would be joining the cast of the BBC America and AMC series Killing Eve . [7]

Jonathan Lee Miller is a British actor. He achieved early success for his portrayal of Simon "Sick Boy" Williamson in the dark comedy-drama film Trainspotting (1996) and as Dade Murphy in Hackers (1995) before earning further critical recognition for his performances in Afterglow (1997), Mansfield Park (1999), Mindhunters (2004),The Flying Scotsman (2006), Endgame (2009), and T2 Trainspotting (2017). For The Flying Scotsman he received a London Film Critics' Circle nomination for Actor of the Year. He was also part of the principal cast in the films Melinda and Melinda (2004), Dark Shadows (2012), and Byzantium (2013). Penny Dreadful is a horror drama television series created for Showtime and Sky by John Logan, who also acts as executive producer alongside Sam Mendes. The show was originally pitched to several US and UK channels, and eventually landed with Showtime, with Sky Atlantic as co-producer. It premiered at the South by Southwest film festival on March 9 and began airing on television on April 28, 2014, on Showtime on Demand. The series premiered on Showtime in the United States on May 11, 2014, and on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom on May 20, 2014. After the third-season finale on June 19, 2016, series creator John Logan announced that Penny Dreadful had ended as the main story had reached its conclusion.

Brona Croft, later known as Lily Frankenstein, is a character on Showtime's Penny Dreadful, portrayed by Billie Piper. Created by writer John Logan, Brona begins the series as an Irish immigrant living in London. An original take on the Bride of Frankenstein story, Piper's character and acting have been acclaimed by critics, calling her "alternately elegant, bewitching, coarse, and frightening."
