Darren Lim (born 30 September 1972) is a Singaporean actor and television host, who was a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1997 to 2016.

Career

Having left school at age 15, Lim began his career as a singer before joining the Television Corporation of Singapore, Mediacorp's predecessor, in the mid-1990s. [1] He joined SPH MediaWorks in 2000 and was transferred back to Mediacorp when both companies merged in 2005. [2] [3] Since rejoining Mediacorp, his profile rose considerably and was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor several times, most notably for his role in The Little Nyonya .

Lim left Mediacorp in May 2012 after some 20 years in showbiz to work at his father's business and spend more time with his family. [4] [5] He has since returned to acting, but in a freelance capacity.

Personal life

Lim married fellow artiste Evelyn Tan in 2004. Lim left the entertainment industry to help his brother with his business and spend more time with his family. [6] [7] The couple has four children named Kristen, Jairus, Way, and Elliot. [8]

<i>Shero</i> (TV series) 2023 Singaporean television series

Shero is a 2023 Singaporean action drama series starring Joanne Peh, Romeo Tan, Carrie Wong and Nick Teo. It follows the story of a woman who decides to join her missing sister's bodyguard company to search for her parents' murderer and to continue her sister's legacy. It began airing on Mediacorp Channel 8 from 12 June 2023.

Seow Sin Nee is a Malaysian host, actress and radio DJ who made her debut through the Mediacorp radio DJ talent competition, The Sound Makers, in 2019. Seow later went on to win the Channel 8 talent search competition, Beyond The Camera. I Do, Do I? was a Singaporean television series starring Felicia Chin, Jason Godfrey, Cynthia Koh, Ferlyn Wong, Tyler Ten, Zong Zijie and Thai actress Panitsara Yang. Revolving around three interrracial couples, the series marks Chin's first leading role in a Channel 8 drama series since leaving Mediacorp in June 2022. The series debuted on meWATCH on 18 December 2023 and aired on Channel 8 every weekdays at 9 pm local time.
