Darryl Yung (born 5 August 1972) is a Canadian badminton player. He competed in two events at the 1996 Summer Olympics. [1]
In 2003, Yung founded ClearOne Badminton Centres with his first location in Richmond, BC. They have since launched additional locations in Calgary and Orlando. [2]
Mia Audina Tjiptawan is a former Indonesian badminton player who represented Indonesia and later the Netherlands in international competitions. A badminton prodigy, Audina first played Uber Cup for Indonesia at age fourteen, winning the decisive final match in the championship round against China in 1994. She was briefly ranked as the World No.1 women's singles player in October 1996. Audina helped Indonesia to retain the Uber Cup title in 1996, and was a member of the 1998 Indonesian team which relinquished the Cup to China, before moving to the Netherlands with her Dutch-national husband in 2000.

Johanna Sofia Elisabeth Persson is a former Swedish badminton player. Persson started her junior career in Täby Badmintonförening, and won her first national junior title in 1993 in the U-14 girls' singles, doubles, and mixed doubles event. She won the Swedish National senior title 11 times from 2002 to 2012, 6 in the women's doubles, and 5 in the mixed doubles. She won the bronze medals at the 2004 European Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Fredrik Bergström, and also at the 2006 and 2008 European Championship in the women's doubles event with Elin Bergblom. Persson competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the mixed doubles with partner Bergström. They defeated Mike Beres and Jody Patrick of Canada in the first round and Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thungthongkam of Thailand in the second. In the quarterfinals, Persson and Bergström lost to Zhang Jun and Gao Ling of China 15–3, 15–1. After retiring from the international tournament, in 2009, Persson runs a project Girls of Badminton, to encourage and promote females within the Swedish Badminton Association. In 2011, she was awarded as a Person of the Year by the Badminton Europe. Her sister, Sara Persson, also an Olympian who competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
Badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics included the four events as well as a new event: mixed doubles. An additional change to the tournament was the playoff game for the bronze medal rather than the awarding of two bronzes. The tournament was single-elimination. Matches consisted of three sets, with sets being to 15 except. The tournament was held at the Georgia State University gymnasium.
Badminton had its debut as an official medal sport at the 1992 Summer Olympics. It was held from 28 July to 4 August 1992. Four events were held in the first competition of the sport: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles. Badminton was contested in the Pavelló de la Mar Bella. 36 nations entered competitors, with a total of 177 entrants. Asian nations won fifteen of the sixteen medals, with their dominance being broken only by Denmark's bronze medal in the men's singles.
Patricia Hy-Boulais is a former tennis player. She turned professional on 12 October 1986. Early in her career she represented Hong Kong. She became a citizen of Canada in 1991. However, she represented Canada since the beginning of the 1988 season. Michelle Li is a Canadian badminton player from Markham, Ontario. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. She has won gold in both singles and doubles at the Pan American Games and won the singles and team event titles from the Pan American Badminton Championships. As a competitor for Ontario, Li also won singles, doubles, and mixed team titles at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
Leanne Choo is a badminton player from Australia. She is the reigning Oceania Champion in women's and mixed doubles. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics, alongside former women's doubles partner, Renuga Veeran. Choo also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Adrian Liu is a male Canadian badminton player from Prince Rupert, British Columbia. He has been the top ranked men's individual and doubles player on the continent and a contender in major international competitions. He is a National champion in men's doubles and has won several international titles since 2010.
Bryan Moody is a Canadian badminton player who affiliated with the Glencoe club in Calgary. He represented Canada at the 2000 Summer Olympics and 1998 Commonwealth Games. Moody was three times national champion. He also won the bronze medals at the 1997 Pan Am Championships, and 1999 Pan American Games.
