Darwen East Lancs was the name used by the Darwen Group for its bus manufacturing construction arm.
East Lancs was originally the shortened name of East Lancashire Coachbuilders, founded in 1934 in Blackburn. In 2007, they went into administration, and were saved by the Darwen Group who acquired them.
At the beginning of 2008, the owner of Darwen, Roy Stanley, set up Jamesstan Investments, an investment company who purchased fellow bus manufacturer Optare. In June 2008, a reverse takeover was performed, the new company now provides an expanded range of vehicles. The Darwen and East Lancs names were dropped in favour of Optare's.

Optare is an English bus manufacturer based in Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire. It is a subsidiary of Indian company Ashok Leyland.
Whitebirk is a suburb in the east of Blackburn, in Lancashire, England. Most of the suburb is in Blackburn with Darwen, a unitary area, with the east of the suburb being in the borough of Hyndburn. Whitebirk is part of the Blackburn urban area. The area is largely industrial, and is the eastern terminus of the town's northern bypass, the A6119, where it meets Junction 6 of the M65.
The Dennis Trident 2 is a 2-axle low-floor double-decker bus chassis originally manufactured by Dennis, which was unveiled in 1997 and replaced the Dennis Arrow. It was built by TransBus after Dennis was incorporated into the group in 2001. From 2004, it was built by Alexander Dennis. The Dennis Trident 2 can be built as either a closed top bus or an open-top bus.

East Lancs Overseas was the part of East Lancs in charge of taking orders and exporting buses outside the UK. After going into administration, the company was bought by the Darwen Group.
The Ferqui Toro and Ferqui Viedo were related designs of minicoach bodywork built by Spanish manufacturer Ferqui until 2014, when they were replaced by the Ferqui Sunset X and Ferqui Sunrise. The Toro, built on Mercedes-Benz Vario chassis, was launched in 2005; the Viedo, a lower-cost variant built on Iveco Daily chassis, followed in 2009.
Darwen North West is a vehicle repair business in the North West of England, offering coach refurbishment, repair, maintenance, and conversion services. It was originally a subsidiary of the bus manufacturer East Lancashire Coachbuilders, called North West Bus & Coach Repairs and based in Blackburn. After East Lancs went into administration in August 2007, the business was bought by the Darwen Group and North West Bus and Coach Repairs was renamed to Darwen North West.
The Optare Esteem was a low-floor single-decker bus body manufactured by East Lancashire Coachbuilders, Darwen East Lancs and Optare between 2006 and 2009 on Scania N94UB, Scania N230UB, Volvo B7RLE, MAN 12.240, Alexander Dennis Dart SLF, Alexander Dennis Enviro200 Dart and Alexander Dennis Enviro300 chassis.
The Optare Olympus is a double-decker bus built by Optare. It could be built as a body available on Alexander Dennis Enviro400, Volvo B9TL or Scania N230UD/N270UD chassis with the 2-axle and 3-axle variants.

The company originated from the purchase of East Lancashire Coachbuilders who went into administration in August 2007. After a series of developments, in June 2008 Darwen performed a reverse takeover in fellow bus manufacturer Optare, with the Darwen name disappearing.

Stagecoach in Preston was a network of bus routes running within the city of Preston, Lancashire and into the surrounding area. It was founded in 2009 after Stagecoach Group acquired Preston Bus that was founded in 1904. The company operated from the main depot on Deepdale Road and their other depot on Selbourne Street. In January 2011, the company was sold to Rotala, which now operates the services under the Preston Bus brand.
The Scania OmniDekka is a double-decker bus built for sale in the UK market, introduced in 2003. Originally built on Scania N94UD chassis at Euro 3, and later Scania N230UD and N270UD at Euro 4 and Euro 5, the bodywork consists of a modified East Lancs Myllennium double decker, but with the standard front end cowl and windscreen replaced with that of Scania's own integral OmniCity.
