Choi Da-seul (born April 28, 1988, in Seoul, South Korea), popularly known as Dasuri Choi, is a South Korean dancer and entertainer based in the Philippines. Dasuri won Best in Talent and was the 2nd runner-up in the segment "You're My Foreignay", of the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines, Eat Bulaga! . [1]

Career

Dasuri Choi is a former dancer of 홍영주 (Hong Yeong-ju) dance team from 2004 to 2006, Step-up from 2007 to 2009, Yama & Hotchicks from 2009 to 2010, and the Dance Trainee (choreographer) profession in South Korea. [2] [ unreliable source? ]

In 2014, Choi auditioned on Eat Bulaga!'s "You're My Foreignay", together with South Korean actress and the segment's grand winner, Kuk Son-young. [3]

From 2015 to 2019, she was joined by comedian Boobay and main host Julie Anne San Jose in the TV series Day Off , a reality/lifestyle program aired on GMA News TV. Dasuri also appeared in Yam Concepcion's September 2015 issue of FHM Philippines .

In 2023, Dasuri joined the cast of TAPE's new variety show Tahanang Pinakamasaya! (which was then an iteration of her former show Eat Bulaga! amid a trademark dispute that was resolved in 2024) as one of the new hosts.

Controversies

Wardrobe Malfunction on Eat Bulaga! (now Tahanang Pinakamasaya!) Segment

On July 11, 2023, Choi experienced a nipple slip incident during the segment, "Dance Pa More Tuesday" with Wynwyn Marquez. [4]

On February 26, 2024, Choi denied claims and rumors linking her to the Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara's breakup. [5]

KukSon-young, known professionally as Shine Kuk, is a South Korean actress, television presenter, and singer active in the Philippines. In the Philippines, variety television shows have become mainstays of the noontime slot for network programming since 1958. The first Philippines noontime variety television shows were influenced by the popularity of bodabil (vaudeville) in the first half of the 20th century. Since then, the format has evolved with the changing times, with elements of reality television also incorporated as well since the 2000s. Majority of the noontime variety shows that aired on television were produced independently by blocktimers that pay a certain amount of time to television networks to air their program. Some TV networks though have managed to solely produce these kind of programs, with moderate success in terms of ratings and advertising revenues.
