David J. Archibald (born April 14, 1969) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. Archibald played for the Minnesota North Stars, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, and New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL).
After playing four seasons in the Western Hockey League for the Portland Winter Hawks, [1] Archibald was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars in the first round, sixth overall, of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the North Stars in the 1987–88 season. [1] In his first two NHL seasons, he scored 27 goals and added 39 assists. Early in the 1989–90 season, the North Stars traded Archibald to the New York Rangers for defenceman Jayson More. [1]
Archibald finished the 1989–90 season with the Rangers' IHL affiliate, the Flint Spirits, before leaving to join the Canadian National Hockey Team for two seasons. This included representing Canada at the 1992 Winter Olympics, where Archibald won a silver medal. [2]
Archibald returned to the NHL in the 1992–93 season with the Ottawa Senators. [2] After four seasons with the Senators, Archibald played in seven games with the New York Islanders in the 1996–97 season. [1] He also played in Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga that season with the Frankfurt Lions. He then spent three seasons in the IHL before finishing up his career in Sweden's Elitserien with Linköpings HC in the 1999–2000 season. [3]
In his NHL career, Archibald appeared in 323 games. He scored 57 goals and added 67 assists. He also played in five games for Minnesota during the 1989 Stanley Cup Playoffs, recording one assist.
Archibald joined the Chilliwack Bruins as an assistant coach prior to the 2008-09 season and added the duties of Hockey Operations Advisor and Community Liaison in February 2009. [4]

Gerard Gallant is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former player. He was most recently the head coach of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously served as the head coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets (2004–2006), Florida Panthers (2014–2016) and Vegas Golden Knights (2017–2020). He is a three-time finalist for the Jack Adams Award for NHL coach of the year, winning the award in 2018 for the Golden Knights' first season. He was also a two-time Canadian Hockey League (CHL) coach of the year during his tenure with the Saint John Sea Dogs, where the team secured two President's Cup victories and one Memorial Cup.

Paul A. MacLean is a French-born Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is the former assistant coach of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, and former head coach of the NHL's Ottawa Senators, winning the 2013 Jack Adams Award as the NHL's Coach of the Year. He also served as an assistant coach for the Anaheim Ducks until his departure from the team on June 1, 2017. Bradley William Shaw is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He was selected by the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the fifth round, 86th overall, in the 1982 NHL entry draft and played as a defenceman for the Hartford Whalers, Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals and St. Louis Blues in the NHL. He was a member of the 1989 NHL All-Rookie Team and twice won the Eddie Shore Award as the American Hockey League's best defenceman. He won the Turner Cup with the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League and the J. Ross Robertson Cup and Memorial Cup as a member of the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League. Kent Douglas Paynter is a Canadian former ice hockey player. Paynter played as a defenceman in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1985 to 1994 with the Chicago Black Hawks, Washington Capitals, Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators. He finished his professional career in the minor leagues in 1998.

Mark Andrew Laforest, sometimes written as Mark LaForest, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played 103 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Ottawa Senators between 1985 and 1994. He won the Calder Cup of the American Hockey League (AHL) in 1986 and twice won the Aldege "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL's best goalie in 1987 and 1991. Since retirement, Laforest has appeared at many NHL alumni events.
Gordon M. Dineen is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman and coach who most recently served as an assistant coach with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. He is a former head coach for the AHL's Toronto Marlies and a longtime assistant with several other teams.
Michael David Peluso, is an American former professional ice hockey player. Peluso was known primarily as an enforcer throughout his National Hockey League (NHL) career. Peluso played in the NHL from 1990 until 1998 with the Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, New Jersey Devils, St. Louis Blues, and Calgary Flames. He won the Stanley Cup in 1995 with New Jersey as part of the "Crash Line". He also won the 1990 Turner Cup with the Indianapolis Ice of the International Hockey League. He is one of three players in NHL history to have over 400 penalty minutes in one season.
Jack C. Capuano Jr. is an American ice hockey coach and former player. He is a former head coach of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is currently an associate coach for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). Capuano played as a defenseman and spent parts of three seasons in the NHL in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He is the older brother of former NHL hockey player Dave Capuano.

James Andrew Hiller is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Hiller played 63 games in the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings, and New York Rangers, while spending time in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL). He finished his career playing overseas in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany and Italian Serie A. Upon retiring, Hiller began a coaching career in the junior leagues.
Robert Murphy is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Murphy played parts of seven seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1987 and 1994 with the Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators, and Los Angeles Kings. Selected by the Canucks in the 1987 NHL entry draft, Murphy turned professional in 1988 and spent the next five seasons playing for the Canucks and their minor International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate. He followed that by stints with the Senators and Kings, going between the NHL and IHL and the American Hockey League (AHL) until moving to the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany in 1997, playing the last six years of his career there. After retiring as a player, Murphy became an ice hockey scout, eventually becoming the director of pro scouting for both the Buffalo Sabres and then the Ottawa Senators.
The 1989–90 New York Rangers season was the franchise's 64th season. During the regular season, the Rangers led the Patrick Division with 85 points and qualified for the NHL playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs, the Rangers defeated the New York Islanders four games to one and earned a berth in the Patrick Division Finals. There, New York lost to the Washington Capitals in five games.
Shane Prince is an American-Belarusian professional ice hockey forward playing for HC Spartak Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He previously played for the New York Islanders and the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Senators in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Islanders in February 2016.
