David Bartholot (born 26 September 1995) is an Australian representative rower. He is an Australian national champion and represented in the double-scull at the 2019 and 2022 World Championships.
Bartholot was raised in Forster on the New South Wales Mid North Coast. He started rowing at Sydney University where he commenced studies in 2015. [1] He was a resident at St Andrew's College and his senior club rowing has been from the Sydney University Boat Club.
In 2018 in SUBC colours Bartholot contested the open men's single and double scull titles at the Australian Rowing Championships. [2] In 2019 he contested the open men's single scull and won the open's men's quad scull national championship title in an SUBC/ANU composite crew. [3] He won another open's men's quad scull national title in 2022 and that year was also selected as NSW's single sculling entrant, racing to victory in the President's Cup at the 2022 Interstate Regatta. In 2023 he was again selected as NSW's single scull representative at the Interstate Regatta.
Bartholot made his Australian representative debut in 2019. [4] He was selected to race a double scull with Luke Letcher at the World Rowing Cup II in Poznan where they placed nineteenth. At the WRC III in Rotterdam he rowed a single scull and placed twelfth. [4] Bartholot and Caleb Antill were selected to race Australia's double scull at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz, Austria. [5] The double were looking for a top eleven finish at the 2019 World Championships to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics. [6] They were second in their heat, third in their quarter-final and fourth in their semi-final. [4] They finished sixth in the B-final for an overall twelfth world place and failed to qualify the boat for Tokyo 2020. [4]
Bartholot was selected in the Australian men's sculling squad for the 2022 international season and the 2022 World Rowing Championships. [7] Racing with Caleb Antill in the double, Bartolot won silver at the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne. At the 2022 World Rowing Championships at Racize, he raced with Antill in Australia's representative double scull. They qualified for the A final and raced to a third place and a bronze medal at the World Championships. [4]
In March 2023 Antill and Bartholot were selected as Australian men's sculling squad for the 2023 international season. [8] At the Rowing World Cup II in Varese, Italy with Campbell Watts and Cormac Kennedy-Leverett they raced as Australia's M4X entrant. They made the A final but an injury to Bartholot resulted in his replacement in the final by Henry Youl. [4] At 2023's RWC III in Lucerne, Bartholot was back in the boat to again race as Australia's M4X. Again they made the A final and in a photo finish for the bronze medal, they finished behind Romania in fourth place. [4] At the 2023 World Rowing Championships in Belgrade Serbia, Bartholot, Youl, Antill and Jack Cleary were selected to race Australia's quad scull. They placed third in their heat and then won their repechage to progress to the A/B semifinals. [4] Ultimately they finished third in the B final for an overall ninth place world ranking. This result did not qualify the boat for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Peter Thomas AntonieOAM is an Australian former rower. He is an Olympic and Commonwealth games gold medallist and world champion. He is regarded as one of Australia's greatest ever rowers figuring in senior representative squads consistently from 1977 to 1996 and representing Australia on eighteen occasions at three Olympics and fifteen World Rowing Championships. He competed at the highest levels as both a sculler and a sweep oarsman, in both lightweight and open divisions, across all boat classes. He won twenty-nine Australian national championship titles in his career.
David William Crawshay is an Australian former rower, an eleven-time national champion, an Olympic champion and medalist at World Championships. He represented Australia in rowing at three consecutive Olympic games from Athens 2004 to London 2012.
Jared Bidwell is an Australian rower. He was a Queensland state representative in both sculling and sweep-oared boats and an Australian silver-medal winning representative at world championships.
Karsten Forsterling is an Australian former representative rower. He was a national champion, world champion, a dual Olympian and Olympic medal winner. He represented Australia at eight senior world rowing championships between 2002 and 2019 in both sculling and sweep oared boats.

David Watts is an Australian rower. A national champion and national representative, he is a 2016 Olympian and won silver medals at the 2015 and 2018 World Rowing Championships.
Genevieve Horton is an Australian rower, a dual Olympian, a junior world champion and an Australian national champion. She competed in the women's double sculls event at the 2016 Summer Olympics and is the 2019 Australian national champion in the women's single scull. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Alexander (Steve) Purnell is an Australian rower. He is an Olympic and national champion who has represented at underage and senior world championships. In 2018 in an Australian eight, he won the Grand Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta. He rowed in the bow seat of the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
Georgia Nesbitt is an Australian former representative lightweight rower who made 10 representative appearaances for Australia between 2013 and 2022. She was an seven-time national champion and she won a silver medal at the 2017 World Rowing Championships. In 2022 prior to a serious cycling accident, she competed in Australian Road National championships and had qualified to participate in her age group at the 2023 Ironman World Championships in Helsinki.
Caleb Antill is an Australian representative rower. He is an Olympian, a multiple Australian national champion, was a 2016 U23 world champion and has represented at World Rowing Championships, winning medals in 2018 and 2022. He raced in the Australian men's quad scull at Tokyo 2021 to a bronze medal.
Campbell Watts is an Australian rower. He is an Australian national champion who participated at the 2018 World Rowing Championships, where he won a silver medal.
Hamish Playfair is an Australian rower. He is a four-time national champion and an Australian representative at World Rowing Championships.
Luke Letcher is an Australian representative rower - a national champion, an underage world champion and an Olympian. He won a world title at the 2016 World Rowing U23 Championships in Australia's U23 quad scull. He raced in the Australian men's quad scull at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to a bronze medal.
Amanda Bateman is an Australian representative rower. She is a national champion, has represented at underage and senior world championships and is a 2021 Tokyo Olympian where she competed in the Australian women's double-scull.
