David Bowe is a character actor in American movies and television. His best-known role is that of George Newman's sidekick, Bob, in 1989's UHF . [1] His other film credits include A Few Good Men (1992), Made in America (1993, starring Whoopi Goldberg), Heavyweights (1995), The Rock (1996), Kicking & Screaming (2005), and Rubber (2010).
Bowe also had a recurring role on the short-lived television series Life... and Stuff , which aired in 1997 and co-starred Andrea Martin. [2] [3] [4]
Bowe was born in Los Angeles.[ citation needed ] Bowe is a nephew of Rosemarie Bowe and Robert Stack. [5]

Nicholas King Nolte is an American actor. Known for his leading man roles in both dramas and romances, he has received a Golden Globe Award as well as nominations for three Academy Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award. Nolte first came to prominence for his role in the ABC miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man (1976) for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie nomination. Cherlynne Theresa Thigpen was an American actress of stage and screen. For her varied television work, Thigpen was nominated for six Daytime Emmy Awards. Thigpen first gained attention for her role in the 1971 off-Broadway musical Godspell. Thigpen's character is named Lynne, and she sang "O Bless the Lord, My Soul" in the musical. Thigpen reprised her role as Lynne in the 1973 film version of Godspell, which she also starred in alongside David Haskell and Victor Garber.
Barney & Friends is an American children's television series targeted at children aged 2–5, created by Sheryl Leach. The series first aired on PBS on April 6, 1992, and features Barney, a purple anthropomorphic Tyrannosaurus rex who conveys educational messages through songs and small dance routines with a friendly, huggable and optimistic attitude. The series ended on November 2, 2010, although new videos were still released on various dates after the last episode aired. Reruns aired on Sprout from 2005 to 2015, and from December 17, 2018 to January 25, 2020 on Sprout's successor network, Universal Kids. On October 6, 2015, the series was initially renewed for revival with a new season to premiere in 2017, but that season was cancelled. A CGI-animated series will air on Cartoon Network's Cartoonito and stream on Max.

UHF is a 1989 American comedy film starring "Weird Al" Yankovic, David Bowe, Fran Drescher, Victoria Jackson, Kevin McCarthy, Michael Richards, Stanley Brock, Gedde Watanabe, Billy Barty, Anthony Geary, Emo Philips and Trinidad Silva; the film is dedicated to Silva, who died shortly after filming wrapped. The film was directed by Jay Levey, Yankovic's manager, who also co-wrote the screenplay with him. The film was originally released by Orion Pictures and is currently owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Yankovic and Levey struggled to find a production company to finance the film, but were eventually able to get Orion's support after stating they could keep the film costs under $5 million. Principal photography took place around Tulsa, Oklahoma.
