David H. Steinberg is an American writer, director, and producer for film and television. He wrote the screenplays for American Pie 2 , Slackers , National Lampoon's Barely Legal , and American Pie Presents : The Book of Love and Girls' Rules . He is currently the Executive Producer and Showrunner on No Good Nick , which streamed on Netflix in 2019.
Steinberg grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he attended William H. Hall High School. He is Jewish. [1]
Steinberg entered Yale University at age 16. He later earned his law degree from Duke University, where he served as editor-in-chief of the law review. [2] Following his graduation from Duke Law, he clerked for Judge Jerry E. Smith of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for a year. After four years of entertainment law in Atlanta and New York, he abandoned his legal career to attend USC's Peter Stark Producing Program. [3]
Before graduating, Steinberg sold his first spec script called Slackers , which was made into the 2002 film. [4] After that sale, Steinberg was immediately hired by Universal to write the first two drafts of American Pie 2 . [5] [ failed verification ]
Steinberg also wrote After School Special, a story about three high school friends who attempt to make a porn movie. [6] The movie was eventually released under the title National Lampoon's Barely Legal . [7] In addition, Steinberg wrote the seventh and ninth films in the American Pie series, American Pie Presents: The Book of Love in 2009 and American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules in 2020, as well as cowriting the second film, American Pie 2 .
Steinberg wrote and directed the short film The Babysitter starring Academy Award winner Brie Larson, which went viral with over four million views on the now-defunct Atom Films before achieving immortal status on Funny or Die. [8] His feature film directorial debut Miss Dial stars Robinne Lee and Sam Jaeger [9] and premiered at the Macon Film Festival on February 16, 2013, where it received the Audience Choice Award. [10] It was released on DVD and VOD by Phase 4 Films in 2013.
He wrote DisneyToon Studios' Tinker Bell and the Pixie Hollow Games , which premiered on the Disney Channel and the DreamWorks animated feature film Puss In Boots . He also wrote the live-action body-switching movie Furry Friday for New Line Cinemas [11] [12] and created and executive produced a TV pilot for ABC Family called Phys. Ed.

Steinberg is the head writer on the U.S. adaptation of the hit Japanese anime series Yo-kai Watch . With his writing partner Keetgi Kogan, he wrote 77 episodes in the first three seasons which air on Disney XD. [17]
Steinberg, together with his writing partner Keetgi Kogan, created the multicam comedy No Good Nick for Netflix which stars Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin, released in 2019. He served as the Executive Producer and Showrunner. [18]

Orville Willis Forte IV is an American comedian and actor. He was a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live for eight seasons between 2002 and 2010. Alexander Robert Hirsch is an American animator, writer, producer, and voice actor. He is the creator of the Disney Channel/Disney XD animated series Gravity Falls, for which he provided the voices of Grunkle Stan, Soos, and Bill Cipher, among others. He also earned BAFTA and Annie Awards for the series. In 2016, Hirsch co-authored Gravity Falls: Journal 3 which debuted as a No. 1 New York Times Best Seller and remained on The New York Times Best Seller list for forty-seven weeks. In 2018, Hirsch wrote Gravity Falls: Lost Legends which also appeared on The New York Times Best Seller list.
John Andrew Overtoom is an American animation director, writer, photographer, and cinematographer. Recent credits include Nickelodeon’s The Patrick Star Show as well as the animated feature film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, where he served as CG animation director and head of character animation. He was supervising animation director on the Cartoon Network series Clarence, as well as Disney XD’s animated television series Billy Dilley's Super-Duper Subterranean Summer where he was a writer and animation supervisor. In 1999, after two years as an animation timer on The Angry Beavers, Overtoom was hired as an animation director on the Nickelodeon animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants, for which he was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2004, 2007 and 2011. My Life with Morrissey is Overtoom's first award-winning live action feature as a writer/director/cinematographer and is distributed by MVD. Other credits include Family Guy and American Dad for Fox TV, and Phineas and Ferb and Dave the Barbarian for Disney.

Milo Murphy's Law is an American animated comedy television series created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh for Disney Channel and Disney XD. The series premiered on October 3, 2016, on Disney XD. It revolves around the title character, Milo Murphy, who is a descendant of the “Original Murphy” of Murphy’s law, which states that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. The series takes place in the same universe as Povenmire and Marsh's previous series Phineas and Ferb, with multiple references to the show occurring across season one, culminating in a crossover at the beginning of the second season and continuing throughout with other plot threads from the former series.

No Good Nick is an American comedy-drama television series, created by David H. Steinberg and Keetgi Kogan. The series stars Siena Agudong, Lauren Donzis, Kalama Epstein, Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin, and the first part premiered on April 15, 2019, on Netflix. Part two was released on August 5, 2019. In September 2019, it was announced that the series was canceled after one season.
