David Hosking (born 13 April 1964), nicknamed "The Mule", is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played for South Sydney and Manly-Warringah in the NSWRL competition. He also played for Hull Kingston Rovers in England. He is the father of Canberra Raiders player Zac Hosking. [2]

Playing career

Hosking was a Manly local junior from the Harbord United Devils club, and played lower grades at Manly. He made his first grade debut however for South Sydney in round 2 of the 1987 NSWRL season against St. George. In 1989, Hosking made five appearances for Souths as they claimed the Minor Premiership. Hosking departed Souths at the end of the season having made over 60 appearances for the club across all grades. In 1990, Hosking joined Manly where he played 63 games for the club over four years. Hosking featured in Manly's 1990 and 1991 finals campaigns. In 1993, Hosking signed for English club Hull Kingston Rovers where he played one season. [3] [4] [5]

Sterling played eighteen Tests for the Australian national team between 1982 and 1988. He also played in thirteen State of Origins for New South Wales, winning man of the match on four occasions. Sterling played in four premiership-winning sides with Parramatta in 1981–1983 and 1986 and has been inducted into the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame. His time spent playing for English club Hull FC also earned him membership in their hall of fame.

Gavin John Miller is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. An Australian international and New South Wales State of Origin representative forward, he played the majority of his club football for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, and is an Immortal of the club. He earned two successive Dally M Player of the Year awards in 1988 and 1989.

At club level he played for Hull Kingston Rovers and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, and coached at York F.C. after finishing his playing career.
