David Kenny (born 10 January 1999 [1] ) is an Irish racewalking athlete. He represented Ireland at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the men's 20 kilometres walk.

Career

Kenny represented Ireland at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships in the 20 kilometres walk and finished in ninth place with a personal best time of 1:25:43. [1] He again represented Ireland at the 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships in the 20 kilometres walk and won a silver medal with a time of 1:25:50. This was Ireland's ninth medal at the European Athletics U23 Championships, and first-ever racewalking medal. [2] [3]

Kenny is coached by former Olympic medal-winning race walker Robert Heffernan. [4] He represented Ireland at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the men's 20 kilometres walk and finished in 29th place. [5] [6]

Samuel Ireri Gathimba is a Kenyan racewalking athlete. He was the 20 kilometres walk gold medallist at the African Championships in Athletics in 2016. He holds a personal best of 1:19:24 hours.

Manuel Esteban Soto is a Colombian male racewalking athlete who competes in the 20 kilometres race walk. He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2012 IAAF World Race Walking Cup.

Koki Ikeda is a Japanese racewalking athlete. He is a graduate of Toyo University.

Vasiliy Vitalyevich Mizinov is a Russian racewalking athlete. He won a bronze medal in 20 kilometres race walk at the 2018 European Athletics Championships. Representing the Authorised Neutral Athletes at the 2019 World Athletics Championships, he won a silver medal in 20 kilometres walk. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, taking place in Tokyo, Japan in 2021, he was disqualified for going off-course.

Tatyana Nikolaevna Mineyeva is a Russian female former racewalking athlete. She won age category titles at international level, including the World Junior Championships in 2008, the European Race Walking Cup in 2009, and the European Athletics U23 Championships in 2011. She won a 20 kilometres race walk national title in 2011 and represented her country at senior level at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and 2010 IAAF World Race Walking Cup. She won the 2009 IAAF Race Walking Challenge Final race.

Katie Hayward is an Australian racewalker. She represented Australia at the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar and also at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. At the 2020 Olympics, she came 37th in the women's 20 km walk final with a time of 1:38.11, just on 9 minutes behind the eventual winner Antonella Palmisano.

Katarzyna Zdziebło is a Polish racewalker. She won silver medals in the women's 20 kilometres walk and 35 kilometres walk at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Zdziebło earned also a silver in the 20 km walk at the 2022 European Championships.

Masatora Kawano is a Japanese racewalking athlete. In 2021, he represented Japan at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, finishing in 6th place in the men's 50 kilometres walk and setting a season best.

José Oswaldo Calel is a Guatemalan racewalking athlete. He represented Guatemala at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the men's 20 kilometres walk.
