David Kordansky Gallery is an art gallery established in Los Angeles's Chinatown neighborhood in 2003. [1]

Contents

History

The gallery was founded by David Kordansky, a former conceptual and performance artist, in a space on Bernard Street in L.A.’s Chinatown neighborhood. [2] In 2008, the gallery opened its main location in Culver City and, in 2014, expanded to Los Angeles's Mid-City district where it tripled its size to more than 20,000 square feet. [3] The space was designed by architecture firm WHY and includes two large galleries as well as offices, a library and gardens. [4]

In 2022, the gallery opened a new space in New York City. [5]

David Kordansky Gallery has responded publicly to the Black Lives Matter movement and represents artists from diverse backgrounds. [6] [7] [8]

The 2022 Whitney Biennial, titled Quiet as It's Kept, is the 80th edition of the Whitney Museum's art biennial, hosted between April and October of 2022. The 2022 biennial was curated by David Breslin and Adrienne Edwards, exhibiting 63 artists and collectives, with installations extending over the 5th and 6th floors and adjacent balconies of the Whitney Museum building.

Gladstone Gallery is an international art gallery founded by Barbara Gladstone in New York City in 1980. The gallery operates out of New York City, with branches in Los Angeles, California, Brussels, Belgium, and Seoul, South Korea. The gallery's primary exhibition space is on 24th Street in Manhattan with two other locations in Manhattan. This 24th Street space, known for its hangar-like dimensions, was designed by Selldorf Architects.
