David Boyd Limbrick [1] is an Australian politician. He became a Libertarian member of the Legislative Council of the Victorian Parliament in 2018,representing the South-Eastern Metropolitan Region. [2] He resigned in April 2022 and unsuccessfully contested the 2022 federal election as a Senate candidate for his party. In June 2022,he returned to the Victorian Parliament,and was subsequently re-elected at the 2022 state election.
In 2018,Limbrick stood as a Liberal Democratic Party candidate in the South-Eastern Metropolitan Region of the Victorian Legislative Council. He was elected with 0.84% of first preference votes. [3]
On 25 November 2021,Limbrick announced his intention to run for the Australian Senate at the 2022 federal election,and resigned from the Legislative Council on 11 April 2022. [4] [5]
On 22 June 2022,after failing to gain a Senate seat in the 2022 federal election,Limbrick was reappointed to the Legislative Council as a member for the South-Eastern Metropolitan Region,following a joint sitting of the Victorian Parliament to fill the vacancy caused by his own resignation.
He successfully ran for re-election at the November 2022 Victorian state election. [6] [7]

In May 2021, almost three decades after Victorian serial killer Paul Denyer terrorised the bayside city of Frankston, MP David Limbrick assembled a press conference. As he spoke to the gathered media, he stood shoulder to shoulder with friends and family of one of Denyer's victims: 17-year-old Natalie Russell. His voice catching, he spoke about Natalie. "She was my girlfriend."
