David M. Tabor (born August 18,1955) is an American politician.
David Tabor was born in Maquoketa,Iowa,on August 18,1955,to Dennison Tabor and Barbara Dwigans. After graduating from Maquoketa Community High School in 1973 and earning a bachelor's of science degree from Iowa State University in 1977,Tabor began farming alongside his brother Brian. David Tabor was elected to four consecutive terms on the Iowa House of Representatives. He served continuously as a Democratic legislator for District 34 from January 10,1983,to January 13,1991. [1]

The Maquoketa River is a tributary of the Mississippi River,approximately 150 miles (240 km) long,in northeastern Iowa in the United States. Its watershed covers 1,694 square miles (4,387 km2) within a rural region of rolling hills and farmland southwest of Dubuque. It is not to be confused with the Little Maquoketa River,another distinct direct tributary of the Upper Mississippi River meeting the Big River north of Dubuque. The river and its tributaries mark the border of the Driftless Area of Iowa,with the areas east of it not having been covered by ice during the last ice age. Its name derives from Maquaw-Autaw,which means "Bear River" in Meskwaki.

Iowa Highway 62 (Iowa 62) is a 19-mile-long (31 km) state highway in eastern Iowa. The highway begins in Maquoketa at Iowa 64,goes through Andrew,and ends in Bellevue at U.S. Highway 52 a few yards (meters) from the Mississippi River. The route has been on the primary highway system since the network was created in 1920. The road was graveled in the late 1920s and paved some 30 years later. It is called the Ansel Briggs Highway in honor of the first governor of Iowa who lived in Andrew during his term in office.

Iowa Highway 64 (Iowa 64) is a 64-mile-long (103 km) state highway that runs through two counties in east central Iowa. It begins at an interchange with U.S. Route 151 (US 151) in Anamosa and ends at the Dale Gardner Veterans Memorial Bridge over the Mississippi River near Sabula. It continues through Illinois as Illinois Route 64. The western half of the highway is the Grant Wood Scenic Byway. Originally,Iowa 64 spanned the length of the state and began at the Missouri River in Council Bluffs where it connected to N-64 in Omaha. It headed northeast and east on highways that today are roughly parallel to Interstate 80 (I-80) and US 30. In 1969,however,Iowa 64 was shortened to its current routing.

The Maquoketa Public Library is located in Maquoketa,Iowa,United States. The Maquoketa Literary Society was organized as early as 1851,and the Boardman Library Institute was founded in 1885. The community applied to the Carnegie Corporation of New York for a grant to build a free public library,and on March 14,1902,they were awarded $12,500. The total cost of acquiring the property and constructing the building was $15,000,which they raised by public contributions and entertainments. Independence,Iowa architect Harry Netcott designed the Neoclassical building. It is a single-story brick structure that rests on a raised limestone basement. Bedford stone was used for the trim. It features a symmetrical facade,with columns in the Ionic order that frame the portico. The interior features a columned rotunda. It was dedicated on January 19,1904. The Boardman Library Institute merged with the Free Public Library after the new building was completed. The roofline was altered slightly when a new roof was added around the middle of the 20th century.

On July 22,2022,three members of the Schmidt family were murdered in Maquoketa Caves State Park. The assailant,identified as 23-year-old Anthony Orlando Sherwin,later committed suicide by gunshot.
