David Schnegg (born 29 September 1998) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Major League Soccer club D.C. United and the Austria national team.

Club career

Schnegg started playing football for FG Schönwies/Mils and for the Academy Tyrol. From 2017 to 2018, he played for SC Imst in the Tyrol League, the 4th level in Austrian football. In January 2018, he moved to WSG Wattens in the Erste Liga.

He made his professional debut playing for WSG Wattens against FC Wacker Innsbruck on 9 March 2018.

For the 2018–19 season, he joined FC Liefering.

On 17 August 2020, he returned to WSG Swarovski Tirol on a season-long loan. [3]

Schnegg moved to Italian club Venezia in June 2021. [4] On 15 January 2022, he joined Crotone on loan. [5]

On 15 June 2022, Schnegg returned to Austria and signed a four-year contract with Sturm Graz. [6]

On 4 July 2024, Schnegg moved to the United States, joining Major League Soccer side D.C. United on a deal through to the end of 2026. [7]

International career

Schnegg was called up to the Austria national team for a set of UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying matches in September 2023. [8]

WSG Tirol Association football club in Austria

Wattener Sportgemeinschaft Tirol, commonly known as WSG Tirol, is a professional association football club based in the town of Wattens, Tyrol, Austria, that competes in the Austrian Football Bundesliga, the top tier of the Austrian football league system. Founded in 1930, it is affiliated to the Tirol Football Association. The team plays its home matches at Tivoli Stadion Tirol, where it has been based since 2019. In the 1969–70 season they played in the Nationalliga, the highest division in Austrian football at this time.

The 1999–2000 Austrian Cup was the 66th season of Austria's nationwide football cup competition. It commenced with the matches of the preliminary round in July 1999 and concluded with the Final on 16 May 2000. The competition was won by FC Kärnten after beating Tirol Innsbruck 2–1 after extra time and hence qualifying for the 2001–02 UEFA Cup.
