Death Team is a Swedish indie pop group which consists of Mayka (born Maja Edelbring) and Johen Rafael Tilli. They have released a number of singles and an EP. [1] [2]

Career

Maja has a background in DJing under her stage name Mayka while Tilli has worked as a film animator [1] and also previously featured in the duo Lissi Dancefloor Disaster. [3] Their debut single, "Shake it Off", was released in May 2014. [4] Their second single, "Fucking Bitches In The Hood", was premiered on the Vice website Noisey on 8 December 2014. [5] [6] It was supported by a video shot in a Canadian bowling alley that was released on 21 February 2015. [7] Their third single, "Dolphin Style", was released on 8 May 2015, and coincided with their self-created Dolphin Awareness Day, made to raise awareness about dolphins in captivity. [8]

In November 2015 the American music magazine Spin picked "Fucking Bitches In The Hood" as the 9th best song of 2015 writing that it's "the most perfectly WTF rap verse of 2015". [9]

In 2016 they performed shows around Europe while working on their debut EP [10] In January 2016 they announced on Facebook that they are starting a record label called Rich Parents. [11] The label has since signed acts such as Ängie and Alexander Wilde. In June of that year they released the single "Jump". [12] [13]

On 20 September 2016, the band released their first EP, titled "Death Team Loves You'. It was followed by the single "Messed Up". [14]

In 2017 they released the singles "Work" [1] and "Weekend".

The band has been on hiatus since 2017, while Maja focuses on her solo career.

Death Team focuses a lot on some recurring subjects in their interviews, music and presence on social media: dolphins, veganism, money, girl power, yoga, pop culture, the music business, pop music, nail polish, Internet as of the 90s, the joy of creating music and Paris Hilton. [10] [15] [16]

<i>Truth Serum</i> (EP) 2014 EP by Tove Lo

Truth Serum is the debut extended play (EP) by Swedish recording artist Tove Lo. The singer signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music in 2011, which led her to write songs for artists like Girls Aloud and Icona Pop. Around that time, she was going through a hard situation in a relationship, so she eventually started composing tracks related to that matter. She then decided to keep those tracks for herself as she considered them too personal. Lo independently released two of the songs as singles, "Love Ballad" in October 2012, and "Habits" in March 2013. Their popularity gained the singer a record deal with Universal Records in 2013. The EP was eventually released through the label to digital retailers on 3 March 2014.

<i>CollXtion I</i> 2015 EP by Allie X

CollXtion I is the debut extended play by the Canadian singer-songwriter Allie X, released physically on 7 April 2015 with a short sell cycle. It is her first record released under the name Allie X. The album was initially released on 7 April 2015 in Canada. The worldwide release was pushed back twice, once to 14 April 2015 and then to 21 April 2015. Allie has stated that the album is influenced by her interest in medicine, psychology, and the macabre. During a question and answer session on social media site Tumblr, Allie stated that the overall theme for CollXtion I is "addiction and self destruction".

Lissi Dancefloor Disaster are a Swedish experimental electropop group which consists of Josefin Lindh and Johan Tilli. They were named after Johan's cat Lissi. Their debut album, Waves, was released on 27 February 2013. Johan is also a member of Swedish indie pop group Death Team. The group have been on hiatus since 2014.

"Story of a Heart" is a song co-written by Swedish musicians Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and recorded by Benny Andersson's Band for their first compilation album of the same name (2009); it features vocals from Swedish singer Helen Sjöholm. British group Steps covered the song for their fifth studio album, Tears on the Dancefloor (2017). It was released as the second single from the album in the form of a remix EP on 12 May 2017, with a radio release slated for 16 June.

Don't Smile at Me is the debut extended play by American singer Billie Eilish, released on August 11, 2017, via Darkroom and Interscope Records. Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell wrote most of the material on the EP and were solely responsible for its production. It is an electropop and bedroom pop record with elements of R&B and jazz.

Maja Francis is a Swedish singer best known for her work with First Aid Kit and her closing track on the Netflix series Love & Anarchy.
