The Del Mar Union School District (DMUSD) is a public school district based in Del Mar in San Diego County, California. The district was founded in 1906. [3] For many years, the district was small, serving approximately 1,000 students in the City of Del Mar. However, in the 1990s, the district's boundaries were expanded to include the newly developed Carmel Valley subdivision in the City of San Diego. Today, approximately 4,000 children attend the district's eight schools.

Academics

The district is well regarded for its high standardized test scores. In 2006, the district scored 939 on the Academic Performance Index, higher than any other district in San Diego County. This top-ranking was repeated in 2007. Individually, Sage Canyon School has posted the highest Base APIs scores in the County from 2004 to 2008.

Together with the schools in the Solana Beach School District, the Del Mar Union elementary schools generally feed into Carmel Valley Middle School and onto either Torrey Pines High School or Canyon Crest Academy, all part of the San Dieguito Union High School District.[ citation needed ]

SR 56 serves as an important connector between I-5 and I-15, being the only east–west freeway between SR 78 in north San Diego County, several miles away, and SR 52 near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Canyons School District is a school district in the southeastern portion of Salt Lake County in Utah, United States. The district includes the cities of Cottonwood Heights, the Salt Lake County section of Draper, Midvale and Sandy and the townships of Alta, Brighton and White City. Residents of those communities voted to create the district in 2007, making Canyons the first school district to be formed in the state in almost a century. Canyons has approximately 34,000 students in 50 schools. There are 29 elementary schools, eight middle schools, five traditional high schools, and eight special programs schools, including one technical school, a special education school and a high school for adults in prison. The district covers 192 square miles and employs 6,000 people.

Municipal elections were held in San Diego in 2020 for mayor, city attorney, and city council. The primary election occurred Tuesday, March 3, 2020, and the general election occurred Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Five of the nine council seats were contested. No council incumbents stood for reelection.
