Cedric Demiko Goodman (born March 17, 1986) is an American sprinter who specializes in the 200 meters and 400 metres. He participated in the 2003 World Youth Championships in Athletics, winning a silver in the 400 metres.
A native of Newnan, Georgia, Goodman attended Newnan High School. [1] Goodman later attended the University of Georgia, where he also played football besides competing in track. [2] He was part of the 2008 Bulldogs team that started the season as preseason No. 1.
Goodman was available in the 2009 NFL draft, but went undrafted. He was later signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was released before the 2009 season began. [3]
He now attends Austin Graduate School of Theology and has signed a sponsorship deal with Adidas, pursuing a spot on the 2012 U.S. Olympic squad. [2]
His younger sister, Chalonda Goodman, is also a successful track athlete. [2]
Derrick Ralph Adkins is a former American track and field athlete who specialized in the 400-meter hurdles. He was an Olympic gold medalist in that event at the 1996 Summer Olympics and World Champion at the 1995 World Championships in Athletics. He was the fastest man in the world in the 1994 and 1996 seasons, and holds a personal record of 47.54 seconds. Adkins was a two-time national champion at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Alvin Leonardo Harrison is an American former track and field athlete who competed in sprinting events. He won a gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at both the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in the 400 metres at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Renaldo "Skeets" Nehemiah is a retired American track and field athlete who specialized in the 110 m hurdles. He was ranked number one in the world for four straight years, and is a former world record holder. Nehemiah is the first man to run the event in under 13 seconds. Nehemiah also played pro football in the National Football League (NFL) as a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers from 1982 to 1985, before returning to track and field athletics from 1986 to 1991. On February 24, 2024, as a sophomore, he set a unofficial world indoor record in the 400 m of 44.49 at the SEC Championships held in Fayetteville. He then set a new Canadian record in the 400m at the 2024 Outdoor SEC Championships on May 11 with a time of 44.05.
