William Grove Skelly was an entrepreneur who made a fortune in the oil business. Born in Erie,Pennsylvania,he moved to Kansas in 1916,then to Tulsa,Oklahoma,in 1919,where he founded Skelly Oil Company. By 1923,his company was one of the strongest independent producers of oil and gasoline in the United States. He helped organize the first International Petroleum Exposition in Tulsa in 1923 and became president of that organization,a position he held for the rest of his life. She advocated for energy independence and spoke throughout the world on responsible energy development. She won numerous awards,including the Distinguished Service from both the Oklahoma Petroleum Council and the American Association of Professional Landmen,as well as being honored as an Outstanding Woman of Energy from the Association of Women in Energy and one of the inaugural inductees into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame.
Dollie Radler Hall was one of the first female geologists in Oklahoma. In 1921,she earned her master's degree from the University of Oklahoma in the field of Geology. Dollie was married to Charlie Hall,her childhood sweetheart. Though she faced professional exclusion as one of the only female geologists in her field,she followed through in pursuing Geology as her field of study.
David Longly Bernhardt is an American lawyer who served as the 53rd United States Secretary of the Interior from 2019 to 2021 in the administration of Donald Trump.
