Vidarbha is a geographical region in Maharashtra,which is next to the west Indian state of Gujarat. It forms the eastern part of the state,next to the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh,it comprises of the Amravati and Nagpur divisions. As per the 2011 Census,the region had a population of 23,003,179. The region occupies 31.6% of the total area and is home to 21.3% of the total population of Maharashtra. Situated in central India,it borders the state of Madhya Pradesh to the north,Chhattisgarh to the east,Telangana to the south and Marathwada and Uttar Maharashtra regions of Maharashtra to the west.
The Peasants and Workers Party of India (PWP) is a Marxist political party in Maharashtra,India. The party was founded in 1948,having its roots from the pre-Independence period and has around 10,000 members. The influence of the party is largely limited to three districts. The party was founded in Maharashtra by Keshavrao Jedhe of Pune,Shankarrao More,Bhausaheb Raut of Mumbai,Nana Patil of Satara,Tulshidas Jadhav of Solapur,Dajiba Desai of Belgaum,Madhavrao Bagal of Kolhapur,P K Bhapkar and Datta Deshmukh of Ahmednagar,Vithalrao Hande and others.
Gadchiroli ( [ɡəɖt͡ʃiɾoliː]) is a city and a municipal council in Gadchiroli district in the state of Maharashtra,central India. It is located in eastern Maharashtra,and is the administrative headquarters of the district. Gadchiroli is called the lung of Maharashtra as almost 70% of this district is covered by forests having 21% of the total forest cover of the state. The main river flowing through city is the Wainganga River. The landscape is lush and green during the monsoon season which is prone to flooding. Gadchiroli is known for its forests. Teak is grown commercially and bamboos are used for various crafts.
Sunil Panjabrao Deshmukh is the Member of Legislative Assembly from the constituency of Amravati,Maharashtra,India. He is a member of Indian National Congress (INC). He is a former Minister of State for Finance and Planning,Public Works and Energy in Government of Maharashtra and was also the guardian minister for Amravati and Bhandara districts of Vidarbha,Maharashtra from 2004–2009. He has also served as the ex-officio Vice-Chairman of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board's holding company and was the co-chairman of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd.
Ashok Shankarrao Chavan is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He is the son of the late former Maharashtra Chief Minister Shankarrao Chavan. He was one of the most influential leaders of Indian National Congress in Maharashtra but joined Bhartiya Janata Party on 13 February 2024. He has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra state from 8 December 2008 to 9 November 2010. Also,he has served as Minister for Cultural Affairs,Industries,Mines and Protocol in the Vilasrao Deshmukh government and he is also the former PWD Minister of Maharashtra.

Dr. Ashish Ranjeet Deshmukh is the member of the 15th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He is representing the Savner Assembly Constituency. He rejoined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2023. Deshmukh is the son of former president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and former Maharashtra minister Ranjeet Deshmukh. In December 2013,Deshmukh had undertaken an indefinite fast to press for formation of a separate Vidarbha state.
Milind Mane was a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represented the Nagpur North Assembly Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mane has been a corporator in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation,in 2012,as sitting corporator,he unsuccessfully contested the municipal corporation elections representing the RPI Aghadi. Mane is a medical doctor.
Sanjay Dulichand Rathod is a Shiv Sena politician from Maharashtra. He is a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Digras-Darwha Assembly Constituency in Yavatmal district. He is a Shiv Sena leader in Vidarbha and served as a cabinet minister in the UBT government but later joined the Eknath Shinde camp in 2022.
KirtiKumar Mitesh Bhangdiya better known as Bunty Bhangdiya is a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Chimur Assembly Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was the richest candidate from Vidarbha in the 2014 elections. Bhangdiya was founder and head of "Yuvashakti Sanghatna" a political organisation that held power in the Gadchiroli Zilla Parishad in 2014. In August 2014,Bhangdiya joined the BJP.
Ranjeet Arvindbabu Deshmukh was an Indian politician and Senior Congress leader. He held the position as state unit president of the party on two occasions was the president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC). He was first elected to the MLA in 1985 from the Savner constituency.
Dr. Vikas Mahatme is Padmashri Awarded Indian ophthalmologist,social entrepreneur,visionary and a former member of the Parliament in Rajya Sabha. Born in Amravati,he comes from Nagpur in the state of Maharashtra. He is well known across Maharashtra for his charitable and social works. He founded a charitable trust –S. Mahatme Eye Welfare Charitable Trust that runs Mahatme Eye Bank eye hospital in Nagpur as well as branches in Mumbai,Amravati,Gadchiroli and Pune. He received the Padma Shri for his charitable community work as an ophthalmologist. In June 2016,Mahatme was the Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate for the Rajya Sabha biennial elections,which he won unopposed. His candidature was strongly backed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He belongs to the Dhangar community. He has expressed support for implementing Scheduled Tribe reservation for Dhangar community in Maharashtra and is its first community member to get elected to parliament. He is currently a member of the Indian Nursing Council.
Dadarao Yadavraoji Keche is an Indian politician. Currently serving as Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party,Maharashtra. He has served as Member of 14th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Arvi Assembly constituency. In the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election,he beat Kale Amar Sharadrao with the margin of 12,467 votes. In April 2020,he broke the COVID-19 lockdown rules in India by celebrating his birthday with 200 people for which a First information report was registered against him.
Milind Ramji Narote is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He is an MLA from Gadchiroli Assembly constituency,which is reserved for Scheduled Tribe community,in Gadchiroli District. He won the 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election,representing the Bharatiya Janata Party.
