The Nepali Congress is the oldest democratic socialist political party in Nepal and the largest party in the country. The party has 870,106 members as of the party's 14th general convention in December 2021 making them the largest party by membership in Nepal. Ratnanagar is a municipality in Chitwan District of Bagmati Province in Nepal. It is the second biggest municipality after Bharatpur Metropolitan City that was formed in 1997 through the merger of the former Village Development Committees Old-Ratnanagar and Panchakanya. It is adjacent to Chitwan National Park,and serves as a gateway to the park. Agricultural products produced from Ratnanagar includes rice,maize,mustard and vegetables. Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli;commonly known as KP Sharma Oli;is a Nepalese politician serving as the Prime Minister of Nepal since 15 July 2024 and chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal since 2014. The Provincial Assembly of Bagmati Province also known as the Bagmati Pradesh Sabha,is a unicameral governing and law making body of Bagmati Province,one of the seven provinces in Nepal. The assembly is seated in the provincial capital at Hetauda in Makwanpur District at the Regional Educational Directorate Office. The assembly has 110 members of whom 66 are elected through first-past-the-post voting and 44 of whom are elected through proportional representation. The term of the assembly is five years unless dissolved earlier.

The 2022 Nepalese local elections were held on 13 May 2022 in 6 metropolitan cities,11 sub-metropolitan cities,276 municipalities and 460 rural municipalities. These were the second set of local-level elections to be held since the promulgation of the new constitution in 2015. From the local election result Nepali Congress has become the single largest party of Nepal followed by CPN (UML) and Maoist Centre.

At the end of 2020,a major split in the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) revived the Communist Party of Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal.
Prakash Jwala is a Nepali politician currently serving as minister of physical infrastructure and transport of Government of Nepal. He also served in the House of Representatives from 1999 until 2008 and in the Karnali Provincial Assembly from 2018 until his expulsion in April 2021,representing the Salyan 1 constituency as a member of the Communist Party of Nepal. After his expulsion,Jwala joined the newly-formed Communist Party of Nepal,and is running as one of its candidates for the House of Representatives in the 2022 Nepalese general election.
The Second Federal Parliament of Nepal,was elected by the 2022 general elections on 20 November 2022. The elections elected 275 Members of Parliament (MPs),165 for each constituency and 110 through the party list,to the House of Representatives. The parliament convened for the first time on 9 January 2023.
Basudev Ghimire is a Nepalese politician,belonging to the CPN (UML),currently serving as a member of the 2nd Federal Parliament of Nepal. In the 2022 Nepalese general election,he won the election from Rupandehi 5 (constituency).
Indu Kadariya is a Nepalese politician who has served since 2018 as a Communist Party of Nepal member of the National Assembly for one of Sudurpashchim Province's reserved women seats.
