Dhamu is a retired Indian actor, comedian and mimicry artist who mainly acted in Tamil films. He is known for his role as Otteri Nari in Ghilli (2004). [1] He was a part of Gaana Galata Group, a popular touring and acting comedy troupe. Since then, he has appeared in several films. He has quit mainstream acting and has opened an agency to represent comedy shows known as 'Tamarai Bharani Comedy Agency'. He once hosted a program "Kalakkal Comedy" on Sun TV. He worked as assistant to the former Indian President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam for seven years. [2] He was also a children's education advocate. [3]

Ghilli (transl. Gutsy) is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Dharani and produced by A. M. Rathnam. It is a remake of the Telugu-language film Okkadu (2003). Ganesh Kumar, Ram Laxman, Anbariv, Mahanadi Shankar, Besant Ravi, Rajendran, T. Ramesh, Indian Baskar, Rajasekhar and Sai Dheena have worked as fighters and assistants to him. He died of a heart attack in early 2006.

<i>Badri</i> (2001 film) 2001 Indian Tamil-language sports action film

Badri is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language sports drama film directed by P. A. Arun Prasad. The film stars Vijay in the titular role as a college brat who turns into a kickboxer to prove himself, whereas Bhumika plays the lead female. Monal, Vivek, Riyaz Khan and Bhupinder Singh play supporting roles. The film's soundtrack was composed by Ramana Gogula, while the background score was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. It is the official Tamil remake of the director's own Telugu film Thammudu (1999) which was based on the 1979 American film Breaking Away.

<i>Kannukkul Nilavu</i> 2000 Indian film

Kannukkul Nilavu is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film written and directed by Fazil. The film stars Vijay, Shalini and Kaveri, while Raghuvaran, Srividya and Ponvannan play other supporting roles. It was Vijay's 25th film and his first film of the new 2000s millennium. The film was released on 14 January 2000 to positive reviews and was a decent hit. Its satellite rights were sold to Sun TV for a good price. Apart from praise for its suspenseful story and Vijay's performance the songs "Oru Naal Oru Kanavu" and "Iravu Pagalai Theda" were popular hit songs in the 2000s.

Pennin Manathai Thottu is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Ezhil. The film stars Prabhu Deva and Jaya Seal, with Sarathkumar in an extended guest appearance. Produced by Kaja Mydeen, the film was released on 7 July 2000 and became a commercial success.

S. Krishnamoorthy professionally known as Madhan Bob, is an Indian actor and comedian, appearing in many Tamil films in supporting roles. Madhan Babu is known for his amusing facial expressions, laughter and protruding eyeballs. He appeared in the popular Sun TV comedy show Asatha Povathu Yaaru? as one of the judges. Madhan Bob ventured into the film industry by donning the role of a musician.

Siva Kumar, also known as Stun Siva is an Indian action choreographer in the Telugu film industry and also has worked in Tamil films. He started his career as an extra fighter and assistant to stunt masters including Kanal Kannan and Rambo Rajkumar, later he became as a stunt master and actor. Stunt masters including Anal Arasu, K. Ganesh Kumar, Silva, Besant Ravi, Anbariv, and Rajendran have worked as fighters and assistants to him. In 2014, he announced that he will be making his directorial debut with Karathe Karan, which is a remake of the 1984 film The Karate Kid. His son Kevin Kumar made his debut as stunt coordinator with Adanga Maru.

Vairamuthu is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 1980, with the film Nizhalgal, an Ilaiyaraaja musical, directed by Bharathiraja. During the course of his 40-year film career, he has written over 7,500 songs and poems which have won him seven National Awards, the most for any Indian lyricist. He has also been honored with a Padma Shri, a Padma Bhushan and a Sahitya Akademi Award, for his abundant literary output.

P.L. Sivanappan known by his stage name credited as Peeli Sivam was an Indian actor who featured around 400 Tamil-language films and plays from 1958 to 2017.
