D. Sivanandhan is the former Police Commissioner of Mumbai,promoted as part of the aftermath of the November 2008 Mumbai attacks. He is India's one of the most well-known and highly regarded Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. His career spanned multiple high-profile postings over 35 years and he is known for his use of strategy &intelligence to uphold the rule of law.
He served as an active member of the special task force in the National Security Council Secretariat,he helped in restructuring India's internal and external national security provisions.
During his tenure he was involved in crushing a major part of the underworld and helped establishing training centres,schools,canteens,gymnasiums and officers’club- all with state of the art infrastructure. He was also responsible for providing the youth of the city an online portal for better communication.
He was also a member of the special task force in the National Security Council Secretariat (Prime Minister's Office) for revamping India's internal and external national security measures. [4]
Currently,he serves as the chairman of a security investigations and assessments company called Securus First India Pvt. Ltd. Very many safe city projects have been done successfully by him like Nanded,Aurangabad,Kolhapur. [5] He also serves as a Director for many boards of corporate companies.
He has also co-authored a National best seller titled "Chanakya"s seven secrets of leadership" which is translated into five national languages and 80,000 copies being sold. [6]
Sivanandan was appointed Joint Commissioner (Crime) for Mumbai in the mid-1990s to tackle the growing gang wars in the city. During his tenure the city witnessed 238 "encounters" with gangsters. [7]

The character of the senior IPS officer portrayed by Malayalam actor Mohanlal in the 2002 film Company is closely based on him.

Subodh Kumar Jaiswal is an Indian police officer who is currently serving as the director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He is a 1985 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and former Director General of Police,Maharashtra. He was previously the police commissioner of Mumbai,the largest city in India and the seventh most populous city in the world. Jaiswal was with the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW),India's external intelligence agency for nine years,during which he served as the additional secretary of R&AW for three years. Jaiswal has also served in Intelligence Bureau and Maharashtra ATS Chief. He was the head of the Central Industrial Security Force. Jaiswal's career began in 1985 as a trainee officer in Aurangabad,where he was subsequently assigned the full posting as the Assistant Commissioner of Police.
The Government Railway Police,abbreviated as GRP,is the force responsible for policing railway stations and trains of Indian Railways. Its duties correspond to those of the District Police in the areas under their jurisdiction,such as patrolling,but only on railway property. While the Railway Protection Force (RPF) comes under the Ministry of Railways,Government of India,GRP comes under the respective state or union territory police. The GRP's responsibility is to observe law and order on all railway property,while RPF is mainly responsible for protecting and securing all railway property. Currently,even if a crime is detected by the RPF,the case has to be handed over to the GRP for further enquiry.
Param Bir Singh is a former Indian police officer of the 1988 Indian Police Service (IPS) batch. He served as the Police Commissioner of Mumbai and the Director General (DG) of the Maharashtra Home Guard. Following the filing of extortion cases against him,he was untraceable,and was declared as absconding by a Mumbai Magistrate Court. Singh was suspended from his present position as The DG of the Home Guard because of his absence by the government of Maharashtra.
