Antonia Coello Novello is a Puerto Rican physician and public health administrator. She was a vice admiral in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and served as 14th Surgeon General of the United States from 1990 to 1993. Novello was the first woman and first Hispanic to serve as Surgeon General. Novello also served as Commissioner of Health for the State of New York from 1999 to 2006. Novello has received numerous awards including more than fifty honorary degrees,was elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2000,and has been inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame. Her memoir,Duty Calls:Lessons Learned from an Unexpected Life of Service,was published in 2024.

James Jude Orbinski is a Canadian physician,humanitarian activist,author,and scholar in global health. Dr. Orbinski began his role as principal of Massey College at the University of Toronto in the 2024-2025 academic year,where he is also Full Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine,and is cross-appointed to the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy,as well as the Dalla Lana School of Public Health,. Previously a professor in the Faculty of Health Science at York University,Dr. Orbinski founded the Dahdaleh Institute of Global Health Research.

As the Acting Surgeon General,he was the commander of the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and,while serving as the Assistant Secretary for Health,was the operational head of the Public Health Service.

Nadine Burke Harris is a Canadian-American pediatrician who was the Surgeon General of California between 2019 and 2022;she is the first person appointed to that position. She is known for linking adverse childhood experiences and toxic stress with harmful effects to health later in life. Hailed as a pioneer in the treatment of toxic stress,she is an advisory council member for the Clinton Foundation's "Too Small to Fail" campaign,and the founder and former chief executive officer of the Center for Youth Wellness. Rohit Varma is an Indian-American ophthalmologist and professor of ophthalmology and preventive medicine. In 2014,he was named director of the USC Eye Institute and chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology for Keck School of Medicine of USC. In March 2016,Varma was named the interim dean of the Keck School of Medicine,and in November was named dean. In October 2017,USC announced that he stepped down as dean. In October 2018,Varma became the founding director of the Southern California Eyecare and Vision Research Institute.
Barbara Ross-Lee,D.O. is an American physician,academic,and the first African-American woman to serve as dean of a U.S. medical school;she is also known as the sister of Diana Ross along with being the aunt of actress Tracee Ellis Ross,and singer-songwriters Rhonda Ross Kendrick and Evan Ross. She majored in biology and chemistry at Wayne State University,graduating in 1965. Then,in 1969,she entered Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ross-Lee then went on to open her own private family practice,teach as a professor,and hold other positions within the medical community. In 1993,she was elected as the first woman dean of a medical school,at Ohio University's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has earned several awards and honors for her work and accomplishments.

Sonia Yris Angell is an American public health figure. She is a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of the Practice of American Health in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Angell also maintains a clinical professorship of medicine in the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. In 2020,after resigning as director of the California Department of Public Health,Angell was elected a Member of the National Academy of Medicine.
Howard Hu is an American physician-scientist,internist,and specialist in preventive medicine and environmental health. He is currently the Flora L. Thornton Chair and Professor of Population and Public Health Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He previously taught at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health,University of Michigan School of Public Health,and University of Toronto,where he served as founding dean of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Hu has served on the Board of Directors for Physicians for Human Rights,where he was involved in four of the nonprofit's fact-finding missions.
Eila Curlee Skinner is an American urologic oncologist and surgeon specializing in bladder reconstruction and continent urinary diversion. She is the Thomas A. Stamey Research professor and chair of urology at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
