Dick CE. Davis (born November 28, 1946) is a former American football running back who played one season in the National Football League (NFL) with the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the twelfth round of the 1969 NFL/AFL draft. He played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and attended Omaha North High School in Omaha, Nebraska. [1]

After his playing days, Cardwell was the head football coach at Omaha University—now known as the University of Nebraska Omaha from 1947 to 1959, compiling a record of 57–51. His 1954 team was undefeated and won the Tangerine Bowl. Cardwell also coached track and field at Omaha.
