Dickhouse Productions (formerly Jackass Productions, stylized as dickhouse) is an American film and television production company owned and operated by Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, and Spike Jonze. It is best known for producing the Jackass franchise for MTV and its subsequent films and spinoff projects such as Viva La Bam and Wildboyz , as well as both Ridiculousness and Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory for MTV, Nitro Circus Live for MTV2, and Loiter Squad for Adult Swim.

Contents

Many of Dickhouse's productions are of the comedy, slapstick, and pranking genre. In 2014, the company rebranded as Gorilla Flicks.

History

The name originated from a meeting between Mark McKee, Jeff Tremaine, and Steve Rocco to decide on a publishing company name for their Big Brother skateboarding magazine; McKee suggested the final name after Rocco disagreed with Tremaine's suggestion (Dick Incorporated). [1]

In about the mid-2000s, Dickhouse had a partnership with skateboarder Rob Dyrdek, producing shows such as Rob & Big , Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory , and Ridiculousness .

Around 2014, the company stopped using the Dickhouse name and rebranded as Gorilla Flicks. This company, operated by Tremaine, Knoxville, and Jonze, continues to produce projects related to the Jackass franchise, including recent films, like 2022's Jackass Forever .
