The lead single from Tokio Hotel's second album, Zimmer 483, was "Übers Ende der Welt", released on 26 January 2007. It became Tokio Hotel's fourth single to have reached Number 1 on the German and Austrian charts. Zimmer 483 was released on 23 February 2007, and reached the top spot on the German albums chart. The album's second single, "Spring nicht", was released on 7 April, charting at Number 3 in Germany, 7 in Austria, and 21 in Switzerland. Zimmer 483 was certified gold in three countries.
German singer Xavier Naidoo began his music career in the early 1990s. His debut studio album, Seeing Is Believing, was released in 1994, consisting mostly of cover versions of traditional tracks and soul songs from the 1960s and 1970s. Released in the United States only, it failed to chart on the Billboard 200 and thus, was never released in Europe. Following a fall-out with main producer Nicole Dürr, he signed with Frankfurt am Main-based Pelham Power Productions (3P) and began appearing as a background vocalist on several of his label-mates' albums. Leading single "No One " reached the top thirty of the Swiss Singles Chart.
Ballast der Republik is a 2012 album by the German punk band Die Toten Hosen. It was their first studio album since 2008's In aller Stille. To commemorate the 30-year-jubilee of the band, the album was also released as a special edition with a second CD, titled Die Geister, die wir riefen, containing 15 cover versions of songs and literature by artists that influenced and inspired the members of the band.

It features recordings from two unplugged concerts on July 13 and July 14, 2019, which were titled "Mit Pauken und Trompeten" and were given at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf. The album was released on October 25, 2019 by the label JKP. The songs 1000 gute Gründe, Ohne dich und Feiern im Regen had been released as downloads before as a teaser. On November 22, 2019, a video movie with 10 additional titles was released also.
