Diesel Loco Shed, Siliguri is a motive power depot performing locomotive maintenance and repair facility for diesel locomotives of the Indian Railways, located at Siliguri Junction railway station (SGUJ) in Siliguri in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is one of the three diesel loco sheds of the Northeast Frontier Railway zone.
Like all locomotive sheds, Siliguri does regular maintenance, overhaul and repair including painting and washing of locomotives. It not only attends to locomotives housed at Siliguri but also to ones coming in from other sheds as well. It has four pit lines for loco repair.
SGUJ has its own livery on WDP-4, it has navy blue, light yellow band and black.
SGUJ has its own stencils and logo. It is written in both Hindi and English in bold letters.
SGUJ DLS was renaming some EMD locos for promoting the culture and tourism of Northeast India which is proposed by NF Rail Enthusiasts group.
The WAG-9 of this shed are green with a yellow band and locomotive number written on the band in dark blue or black colour. The name "Siliguri" is written on the locomotive body just below the band.
The WAP-7 of this shed are white with a red band and locomotive number written on the band in black colour. The name "Siliguri" is also written on the locomotive body below the band.

The Northeast Frontier Railway is one of the 19 railway zones of the Indian Railways. It is headquartered in Maligaon, Guwahati in the state of Assam, and responsible for operation and expansion of rail network all across Northeastern states and some districts of eastern Bihar and northern West Bengal.
The history of British Rail's corporate liveries is quite complex. Although the organisation was associated with Rail Blue from the mid-1960s to the 1980s, a number of other schemes were also used, especially when it was split into operating units in the mid-1980s.
Siliguri Junction is one of the major and second largest railway station that serve the city of Siliguri located in Darjeeling district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The station has two types of gauges visible i.e. 1,676 mm broad gauge, & 610 mm narrow-gauge tracks for Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. It was opened in 1949. It formerly had the distinction of having three gauges visible but the metre-gauge line from Aluabari Road to Siliguri Junction was converted later into broad gauge. A few years ago, the trains used to run between Siliguri Junction to Naksalbari on the metre-gauge line. Siliguri Junction lies on three railway lines New Jalpaiguri–Alipurduar–Samuktala Road line, Katihar–Siliguri line and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Line. Diesel Loco Shed, Golden Rock is an engine shed located in Golden Rock, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu in India. It is located north of Golden Rock railway station, falling under Tiruchirappalli railway division. It is the largest of the four locomotive sheds under the Southern Railway zone of Indian Railways.
The YDM-4 is a class of diesel locomotives operating on Indian Railways. The first units were built by the American Locomotive Company (Alco) in 1961. Since 1968, members of the class have been manufactured in India by the Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi. The model name stands for metre gauge (Y), diesel (D), mixed traffic (M) engine. The YDM-4 has been the most successful metre gauge diesel locomotive in India. The YDM-4 locos have a maximum speed of 100 km/h (62 mph), restricted to 85 km/h (53 mph).
Diesel Loco Shed, Ernakulam (Code:ERSX) is a motive power depot performing locomotive maintenance and repair facility for diesel locomotives of the Indian Railways, located at Ernakulam Junction (ERS) of the Southern Railway zone in the city of Kochi, Kerala. It is one of the four diesel loco sheds of the Southern Railway, the others being at Tondiarpet (TNP) at Chennai, Erode (ED) and Golden Rock (GOC) at Trichy and the only locomotive shed in Kerala and the southernmost loco shed in India. Although it is in Kerala, its locomotives were mainly used in Goa and Maharashtra, and very rarely near the shed for passenger trains.
The Badarpur–Dullabcherra Passenger is a passenger train belonging to Northeast Frontier Railway of Indian Railways that runs between Dullabcherra and Badarpur Junction in Assam. It is currently being operated with 55690 train number on a daily basis. The train makes its main halt at Karimganj Junction for 25 minutes & loco/rake reversals also takes place here. The train runs with SGUJ/WDP-4D.

The model name stands for Metre gauge (Y), Diesel (D), Mixed traffic (M) engine, 5th generation (5). They entered service in 1964. A total of 25 YDM-5 locomotives was built between 1963 and 1964.
