Diggerland is the name of theme parks inspired by diggers and JCBs. There are four theme parks in England, and one in the United States. Diggerland is part of the H.E Services Group and Allsafety Limited.

Locations

There are four Diggerland theme parks in the Uk located in Strood in Kent (opened in 2000), Langley Park, County Durham (opened in 2001), Cullompton in Devon (opened in 2001, closed in 2020, and reopened in 2022) and Castleford in West Yorkshire (opened in 2007). In 2015 it was announced that Diggerland would open their fifth UK park in Evesham, Worcestershire, [1] [2] [3] but this was delayed indefinitely in 2017. [4]

Diggerland had a temporary park in Dubai during the summer of 2005. Their 2006 plan to expand to Richmond, Virginia in the United States was stalled out by the Great Recession. [5]

Diggerland expanded into the United States and opened a park in West Berlin, New Jersey in 2014. [6] [7]

Events

Racing events happen between March and October, because they need to be completed in daylight hours. Dumper Racing is held on a monthly basis.

Diggerland also has a team, The Dancing Diggers, which operates every other year and features large diggers doing stunts. In 2017, they performed at several county fairs, including the Royal Bath and West Country Show.

Evesham Township is a township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is a suburb of Philadelphia, the nation's sixth-most populous city. Maidstone is the largest town in Kent, England, of which it is the county town. Maidstone is historically important and lies 32 miles (51 km) east-south-east of London. Historically, the river carried much of the town's trade as the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, which is known as the Garden of England. Evesham is a market town and parish in the Wychavon district of Worcestershire, in the West Midlands region of England. It is located roughly equidistant between Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. It lies within the Vale of Evesham, an area comprising the flood plain of the River Avon, which has been renowned for market gardening. The town centre, situated within a meander of the river, is subjected regularly to flooding. The 2007 floods were the most severe in recorded history.

The terminal junctions of the M2 intersect with the A2, which come together to form a 62-mile (100 km) long trunk road from London to Dover.

The line as far as Canterbury was opened in 1860 and the extension to Dover Priory on 22 July 1861. The Medway Valley line is the name given to the railway line linking Strood in the Medway Towns via Maidstone West to Tonbridge. High Speed services also link between Maidstone West, Snodland, Strood and London St Pancras International. The section from Maidstone West to Paddock Wood passes through some of Kent's most picturesque countryside along the narrower sections of the River Medway.
